1st trip out with the attak & what I have read is true GREAT Trail sled but I had it stuck within 2 kilometers of the hotel. 50 cm (20 inches) of fresh light snow fell Friday in Bathurst & if you go off the beaten trail (groomers were out by Sunday) where it drifted to much deeper & I really discovered how much the Attak trenches, I have stock skis with shaper carbides & they were less of a problem in the powder than the trenching. I'll keep an eye on this sight to see if any simple changes can be made. However I bought it as a versatile trail sled & have been extremely pleased so far with it as a trail sled. Trails not well groomed yet, due to huge storm, but found it night & day how it handled both cornering & in bumps verses my RX-1.
Just wondering what the final outcome was on this topic between the changing of the tracks and the helix change. Or is there some other way to help these trenching beasts without costing an arm and leg?
Same problem, let us know if the new helix helps. the only time I get on top of the snow is when I let off the throttle as soon as i ease back into it down it goes

Hey guys it seems that we all want the same thing an Attak that can boondock in 2 feet of snow. I posted the question about putting in the Nytro xtx skid that is 144 with tiped up rails. It seems that using mtn ski's and a mtn style of clutching seems the way to go its just a track choice and length. As i hate geting smoked by my bother's F7 and his friends Crossfire which is soon to be replaced by the sno pro which has the 141 inch track 3" pitch and 1.5 lug track. Thats the route im thinking or close to (144). I would like to get greedy and put on a back country but dont know if it would even fit, with stock drivers or what size i would need to go do to?
