Anyone out there had a chance to run these side by side ? I think it would be close

I had a hurricane 180 kit on my 2011 apex xtx, ran a winder with excell stage 2, 1st run he was on 240, took him 500ft to catch me but was goin by pretty good when he did, 2nd run did a roll on because i left him so bad on start, he was on 270 and i left him again but he ran me down at about 450ft and was about 4 sleds ahead at 500 ft and goin away fast, so i would think they would be close if both had 240 hp but the quick spool would probably out pull in the midrange, all depends on the setup.

Well I could comment on this matchup all day long, but I won't as to not offend anybody. But, when the OP says 240 Apex, I'm assuming he's referring to a stage 1 MPI setup. One thing you have to remember is that the 240hp #'s came with 11+ pounds of boost AND stock compression. The vast majority of "trail" riders with a stg 1 either lowered the boost to around 5 psi (with stock comp) or lowered the compression with full boost. Either way, both setups were less than 240hp, closer to 210-225. With that said, I wouldn't have any concerns about putting a 225ish hp Apex up against a SW with a canned tune.

My Apex makes a dyno confirmed 182 hp and it is a whole different machine. Another 30-40 hp would be awesome.

I'm not slighting the SW's in any way. Just saying that a boosted Apex is VERY formidable in its own right. And we haven't even brought turbo'd Apex's into the discussion yet.

My SC apex would destroy my winder in top speed, but it was a beast, narrow track, better gearing, etc so not really relevant. Point is one is not better then the other, and any boosted yammie's are fricken animals! Apex is still my long legged favorite hands down! Never had a sled make me giggle like that one! Winder stock is better corner to corner, but my custom apex was still more fun in the trails, not sure why, I just felt like I could hit any mogul, jump any jump, and felt like it was an extension of me.

I need more time on sidewinder but so far its been in the shop longer then in storage. :(
