I had blast at the lake on Sat. met alot of good people, and really enjoyed lake running like the old days. Ran though the gun 119 witch is ok but I got smoked by acouple of basicly stock Ape's and Srx. There was MR Sleds Ape and a RX1 that was turboed that ran strong also. The 1000 cross fire ran 121 but the SRX ran 124 the two Ape's that were trail stock ran 126 and 128 the RX ran 132. Nytro 110 XTX 109 SXR112 Viper110 98 SRX106 it didn't feel good. But it was a outstanding day I can't wait till next time.

Here are some results from Dec 6 2008 Rib Lake, it was very cold in the teens with some nasty wind. Radar results as shown was at the ½ mile mark:
Rocks Apex: 128.6, 126.6 125.9 and sitting up at 123.4
Corey’s Apex: 126, 125.3, 125.2, 126.8
Corey’s 01 SRX: 123., 122.6, 121.3, 121.4
Tom Turbo RX1: 129.0, 130.2
Dave 06 Apex GT: 117.1, 119.3
Romi Apex: 117.9, 118.9, 119.0

My Nytro:109.5
My XTX: 108.3

We did set up another run later in the day a little shorter about .4 of a mile. All sleds still running some good numbers, Rocks and Corey’s Apexs running 124-125 and the Turbo going thru at 131.

My XTX went thru in the 108 to 109
And my Nytro with my son on did crack a 110 at the shorter distance.
.

My Super Charger: was no go in the morning, blew the throttle bodys off the sled again and took out the lower pulley. We did repair it for the afternoon shorter run but it was hitting the rev limiter a lot. More clutching needs to be done. Finally did make a run with it a few times by starting really slow and gradually working it out and came thru at 122. It at least will stay together for me with out issues.

All in all it was a fun day on the ice and those that did not go missed a great time!!

MrSled, To stop blowing throttle bodies off, clean head, boots, and throttle bodies off with brake cleaner real good. Glue boots to head with the grey #4 Yamabond. Install clamps and reduce stock spacer by half using small rivet washers on all clamps including throttle bodies side. Spray Permatex HI-Tack in boots and on outside of throttle body mounting surface. Tighten clamps using half thickness spacers and enjoy the ride. You won't blow them off again.

Looks like everyone had a good time and the Yamaha's ran fast.

I didnt have any numbers from the person that was writing them down...so I am not sure. Someone that was there maybe able to post how they ran. sorry.

Are these number stock sleds?

"Rocks Apex: 128.6, 126.6 125.9 and sitting up at 123.4
Corey’s Apex: 126, 125.3, 125.2, 126.8 "

That is radar speed so the dream meter must have been into the 140's? They are almost as fast as a turbo RX?

I am not sure what they have done but they are pretty stock motors. for Sat they were lowered and ice picked but will still run in the 122 to 124 range in trail form.

Holy crap I didnt know they were that fast! 122-124 range is RADAR speed your using right not the dream meter. I'm surpirsed the turbo RX didn't just run away with everything.

I thought the same thing kinger, but remember they are only looking at top speed, not the times. I would guess that the turbo was reaching top speed much quicker than any of the other sleds, then just running out of gearing. Side by side results would no doubt show the turbos dominance.

Maybe someone there had a watch on them and could let us know how much difference there really was.
