What spring were you running in the secondary?@round 115mph mine went with a bang. It snapped in half, piled up under brake guard with no damage or mess. Only a couple peices of belt and some string hair in the belt guard. Had just over 1900 miles on it. Now you just need to take picture of reciept and belt. Send $15 and you will get a new belt in about 10 days, great warranty.

I am running an STM secondary with a cat green spring in 4th hole with a 59/31 helix. It's a cat 9000 with a team primary. What spring were you running in the secondary?

I ran my white at 9/1 and it was super hot.....I dropped it to 6/3 today and the heat is much more tolerable on secondary, while it is still hotter then my b/o at 6/3. Im gonna run the white abit longer with it like this. I never had slippage with my b/o at 80 or 90 degrees, but the conditions have been easy gliding mostly this winter.
I do like the cooler clutches with the b/o though. Just really wanted max engine braking but that seems to be over-ridden by ECU (EBR) ...
So far the lowered offset for me seems to be what has made belts live. Ultimax for sure is my fave so far, clean and holding up will with 1050 miles now on belt this season.

yes I also have experienced the higher heat on the clutches with the stiffer springs , the black /tan shows less heat with higher gearing , but the black /orange seems to be the coolest by far , im back with the black /orange at 80 degrees , im going to try the black /tan again . I do like the black/tan on fast trails and lakes as it runs cool the faster u go ,I ran my white at 9/1 and it was super hot.....I dropped it to 6/3 today and the heat is much more tolerable on secondary, while it is still hotter then my b/o at 6/3. Bigger tunes and high top speeds are where the bigger secondary springs help I believe. For much of my trail riding its all hard corner to corner, and the b/o does fine there. But Im gonna run the white another weekend at 6/3 as it does perform well.yes I also have experienced the higher heat on the clutches with the stiffer springs , the black /tan shows less heat with higher gearing , but the black /orange seems to be the coolest by far , im back with the black /orange at 80 degrees , im going to try the black /tan again . Mike has mentioned this before but worth saying again, the 8DN is a very hard belt and seems to like the bigger springs best, so that is something to consider. I may try the 8DN and 22 again(next season maybe?) and then the white will go up more degrees for that setup and likely more weight up front too.
But for belts lasting, so far this season sure seems good compared to last yr....so Im not wanting to change too much!

I think maybe my setup prefers the 38 cam to run shorter softer belts and the big rear springs. I do know that i havent had the arm stretching pull before like this. Testing will continue but i'm also pretty happy. My Rt had a huge goodwin rear spring in it overcome the heavy steel tra arms and it performed best. Yes the secondary was pretty hot but never blew a belt. Ran xtx's.

How are your stm ramps loaded,and what do they weigh?Ultimax 825/ 60y/ yl-wh-yl/ 38deg/ dalton white @ 0/1 offset @ 58 and 911 cover. 22/41 rtx le.
270R tune.
Turning 8800-8850 secondary is hot but not too hot that i cant keep hand on. Seems to perform best to date. Perhaps because it just came off some wide open passes on nippising. Belt has 500kms on it and still looks like new.
I think im done unless i try 290 then will have to add weight. I also feel like it could use a tad more heel weight but thats minor. Thanks to ty forums and all who contribute their findings on here. Im heading out tomorrow again with some added heel weight.

The straight 38 just plain works on my sidewinder, but I now have it wrapped at 100 degrees with Dalton cat white, and all good.I think maybe my setup prefers the 38 cam to run shorter softer belts and the big rear springs. When it comes to the "zero" combinations on twist, How do they work?
All the other combos seem simple, just add together and X 10. (IE: 6/3---6+3=9 x 10 = 90 degrees)
So with 0/1 ....that is 10 degrees only?

But if they are not the Yamaha spring, the tabs are located differently. When it comes to the "zero" combinations on twist, How do they work?

Definitely not 10 degrees. I actually go by distance before twist. Usually 1/2" increments. But i'd guess we are in the 30lb range i think knapp had 9/1 @ 25lbs. So this is a couple settings higher.

But if they are not the Yamaha spring, the tabs are located differently.
Tang location does not matter for degree as long as its same spring. More or less degrees still applies.
It DOES matter if you are trying to compare degrees from one brand/make spring to another with diff tangs obviously.
Im simply asking how the ZERO numbers are used in the equation.
