So with cat going through what ever they are going through I figure this may be a decent thing for making stuff.

Over the winter I lost my reverse button switch. It was roughly 50 bucks to replace it from cat so I got it and started roughly modeling it it up. It's flat on one side and doesn't have the slight taper to it. Additionally its pla so it likely won't with stand the harsh environment it's in. I just hate paying the price for what should be a five dollar part. There is a small spring that goes on the post and luckily cat sent two springs so I got the dimensions off of that one.

I'm guessing the switch gear buttons are close to the same where there is two attachment points and springs. I don't have the dimensions to model that one.

My guess is that this would need to be made out of abs for it to work properly. But has anyone else made prints for our 998's?

Not for the 998, lots for the bike. Use your printer to get the cad model right and then send the cad model off to one of the commercial print houses. Get a few people together to get the quantities/price right and you will have a better than oem part.
