Hello everyone I have a 2018 sidewinder which I have installed the hurricane tune bundle on . This included their high flow trail friendly muffler. This set up is not at all loud by any means and imo the same as my apex I have read on different posts that up in Maine the wardens are checking exhaust and if not stock their ticketing. I have changed out my heat shields with original ones that have the cert # they look for. I'm now hearing that they are also measuring the output pipe size. Has anyone run into this up north? Also if I have the output pipe reduced to stock size how badly would this hurt this sleds tune bundle? Any help would be greatly appreciated .

the way it works in Ontario is , the provincial police r the only ones now that can enforce the law on the trails , the trail warden can not enforce , depending how much knowledge the police have on exhaust very from each police , here in Ontario the exhaust has to be the original exhaust , it has nothing to do with noise , its all about not being altered and must be oem , there again depending on how educated r the police , I for one have been pulled over and asked if the officer could look at my exhaust and is it stock , I said yes and he let me go . my lucky day , biggest thing now a days , the police get involved is when people complain about noise levels , then police will set up a noise blitz on the trail , so probably the best is to try to keep your exhaust looking its stock appearance ,Hello everyone I have a 2018 sidewinder which I have installed the hurricane tune bundle on . I too was thinking about taking my hurricane trail muffler to work and cut the outlet pipe off and Tig on a new piece that is necked down to 2 inch, I wouldn't think it would hurt anything much since it's at the end of the line. But I'm no expert in exhaust so I'm not totally sure on the idea yet.

I have never heard of any opp measuring the exsaust outlet in Ontario!!!!
If you are concerned call Dave and get the stock muffler tunes for sensitive area and run the aftermarket tunes where it's not a issue...imo

I have hurricane trail muffler and really not that load compared to stock. This weekend I pulled up to gas up 2 opp officers beside me and they just waved to me. I really think if your sled is loud like 2 strokes with pipes or stingers that’s when you draw attention and then they will investigate. Just my 2 cents I ran exhaust on all my 4 stroke sleds and been threw lots of checks STOP and OPP and Always sailed threw.

I was thinking the same, but not only will it restrict, I think it might build up too much heat and Probly would kill the life of the muffler.I too was thinking about taking my hurricane trail muffler to work and cut the outlet pipe off and Tig on a new piece that is necked down to 2 inch, I wouldn't think it would hurt anything much since it's at the end of the line. Beware in Northern Ontario. Exhausts are being checked.

This seems to be big everywhere this year.
It takes time and experience for riders to figure out that loud is not fast....its just loud.
