Airbox mod & Can. IS a AFR really needed?

I ran both(excell and Stingrays) back to back and could not tell the difference on top surely didn't require any clutching between the two which has always been my standard for judging hp gains or losses. I believe the Excell had more mid range but cannot prove it other than feel.

I would agree with that.

Could definitely feel the $ difference! Does perplex me why the much cooler intake temps don't seem to matter. With header wrap and venting I am at 20 deg f intake temps almost all the time now. Doesn't seem to matter powerwise.

My best guess would be air temp vs air velocity one designed for temp the other for flow, but just a guess.

Stingray and I are best of friends....his airbox mods work.

I believe the Excell is ok, but I am seeing some issues with the block off plate.

I did this mod on top of the airbox to:
#1 - keep snow out
#2 - keep it under the hoodside so it's undetected
#3 - brings in cooler air
#4 - it's adjustable and has nice placement with the TPI valve slides.

Lonn at Thunder Products wanted me to come up with something with his product. If I would have told Lonn Stingray's mod, that would be like slapping Stingray in the face....and I won't do that to him. Stingray helped me out right when the Viper came out that I thought he was nuts, but I tried his ideas and they have helped me get to where I am now.

Just clear this up a bit. Our kit is very close to being released. Were just waiting on a couple of things before we do the actual reveal. Our kit is not just a couple of holes drilled into the air box. Its got a lot more to it.

Nice, looking forward to what you've come up with. If its anything like your front end for the Viper than I'm in!
