ALL SC NYTRO FLATLANDERS BEWARE 1000ft altitude.

, you can not run your midrange at 14 - 16 AFM.

This was part of the point I was attempting to make. You cannot run at 16:1 and expect things to last. That is to lean for a naturally asperated sled much less a boosted one. At 16:1 it is a matter of when something will go wrong not if. Regardless of cause if you see 16:1 you should not run hte sled.

I now see the settings you posted (I somehow missed the second page earlier). It looks like you have more room to go up on green and could most likely turn down your red to reduce the 10:1 you care complaining of. Even if you cannot 10:1 and a running motor is better than 16:1 and a non-running motor.

OK , I could lean the red, yes

But the boost added part of the gems will feed fuel in green , yellow and red , to trying to help the midrange lean , I had the red up higher.

If the green or yellow was at 8 , the sled would fall on its face when it hit 2 lbs. Had to drop to 6 to run.

All trying to fill the middle.

VARIABLES BEING 2010 NYTROS ?????

OR OUR OXYINATED FUEL , ??????

OR ETHANOL ADDED , FUEL ??????

Glen,

Does all your fuel really have Ethanol and do u know the percentage?

Ethanol require much larger fuel volume and lower burn rate. meening to get your afrs down u need alot more injector and pump to sustaine correct afr with ethanol based fuel.

Spray , read back awile I did post gem's ####s.

Gems small blue hose on ic , with tee for regulator,
Boost gauge at tb , with tee for bypass valve

My appologies I was missing some posts when I responded, therefore, I did not see your numbers.

I see the green, green/blue, and red/blue all still had room to add more fuel in the range you are saying is too lean. So the Gems did have the ability to add more fuel didn't it? It would appear for reasons unknown to me you did not increase that fuel.

The sled would not run corner to corner without a rich bog , as the boost came and went , with Gems green and Yellow at 8.

But was ok at 6+

Again , after the gems switched to boost added , (@ 2 lbs) it was lots rich .

We have been talking about this lean midrange with MPI since snow came .I have been trying not to keep the sled in that spot , to save it.

eg , Lake running , must be above 2 lbs of boost , then 11.0-11.8 depending on outside air temps.

Ordered RB3 , pistons , rods , head studs , gaskets ,

Thanks to Dave @ Hurricane Perf for having stock !!!

HEATH , gas pumps say , may contain up to 10% ethanol , for sure it is there!

Not sure if Premium has it as well, try to run premium but can't always get it!

But , Before 2 lbs of boost , fuel was not available !

You might consider increasing the fuel delivery of Green, Green/blue, and red/blue.

UPDATE , HEATH AT MPI JUST CALLED.

The Gems program WAS , set to come on at .5 lbs , major increase at 2 lbs ,
then ramp up fuel gradually to 11 lbs then flatline full fuel.

As of yesterday , NOW , set to come on at .5lbs , but ramp up fuel on a steeper curve to 6 lbs , then flat line wide open fuel.

Making more fuel available earlier !!

My sled shows 2 green lites until 2lbs boost (a/f 15-16+)
Then at 2 lbs , click goes to 3 reds , and a/f 10.5
and will be 11.5 + wot.

Running now Gems @ 1000 ft altitude

gsxr,
Are you running a narrow band or wideband? just wondering about accuracy..

Seems to me what I've read on here for a couple years is that it is ok to run 14.5 if there is no load which is easy riding trail speeds..

Just when I think I have it figured out... :o|

I am sure there are diferring opinions but I prefer to be aroung 13.0-13.5 while cruising. Any potential for lower fuel economy is more than offset by my desire to not rebuild my motor.

FJO digital wide band and FJO digital boost / vacuum gauge.

Spray , I agree , BUT , Gems won't do it!

We have a new controller on its way to GSXR for testing. after looking at the tune and spending hours on this we are still a little confused as to why all of a sudden this is a issue and not 2 years ago.

Glen please call me tomorrow got alot of questions.

I left a message on home phone also.

Thanks again
