New Sled

I would like to think there will be a new sled to run next year.

I am willing to give a few of my hard earned dollars to this cause.

Ok guys, I've been thinking about this some more and I think we need to get everyone on Totallyamaha.com and Totallyamaha.net and RX1.info involved and see how they feel. So I have taken the time to post this on the General Forum in www.totallyamaha.net and I will do the same in the www.totallyamaha.com General Forum as well. I think if we setup a bank account at a bank or a paypal account where people could send money. We would decide on how the money would be spent as a GROUP, those of use who would be involved would be posting constantly letting everyone know that we spent XXX amount of money on this certain item, etc.

I know that I would be willing to let my truck & trailer used for this event as it is fully wired with 110v outlets and florecnt lighting & I have a generator as well as almost any tool that would be needed. I also have a track dyno which we could use that could be done in the trailer as well as long as we had a decently sized air compressor and a water source to cool the sleds some how. Let me know what you guys think.

shootout fund

guys- count me in. I probably can't even see the tree, but who gives a s#@*. I'd be willing to give more than $10 to not only make the green guys eat brown but also to show the nips what they should have done with all this potential.

Allen,

I think it is a great idea however, with sooooo many people interested.. I think it would be beneficial to nominate a few candidates to lead the charge and make the necessary decisions.......just my .02

srxspec,

The paypal account idea sounds great. If you are interested then an invoice could be sent to your for your donation. You would have to set it up as a business account. This way it will be secure, fast and accountable.

We could have an online vote for who represents us based on some criteria. Like, race experience, Shoot out experience, model of yamaha, years sleding, awards, current setup on RX-1, and of course equipment at your disposal.

Again count me in for $30.

I wonder if another sponsor with deeper pockets is out there.

if it is set up right you can use the donations as a wright off also for incom tax ...

im shure the speed shop and a few others will donate big as they can use the wright off at tax time.... ;)

but it would be cool to have a Canadian team and a USA team to go there.

as i have a 48 foot semi van we can use and put some nice stickers on it and stuff and can have a nice set up with display and all there like all the other big names ...

i dont know if you guys remeber a few years ago Gerry proser had NICE RIGGIN he had a big blue cube truck when he went to races man did he stand out look realy good it was painted YAMAHA blue & said YAMAHA all over it ... was very cool set up ...

Paypal!

Paypal is probably the easiest way to go. But remember paypal also charges a %. I think it is 2.5% on every payment to paypal. Just something I wanted to point out. Thats on a business account anyway. Good Luck!

I like your idea but man I think your all nuts I know its not alot of money per person but why should the members of this great site buy advertisment for Yamaha and the aftermarket? It doesn't matter to me i'm not into the strightline racing thing but I would hate to see you guys kick #*$&@ and the guys that sell us these $9000 sleds and more add-ons than I care to mention get the glory by more sales. Don't get me wrong I would love to see the Yams kick #*$&@ but not at your expense.

I know that you are all in it for the pride and I wish you luck.

Bone

Question, what is the real purpose of the shootout and who founded it? To me it does not sound like a factory sponsored event. Does any manufacture use the results for advertising or promotion? Or is it more for the sledheads like us?
