The wife has a 2016 RS Vector X-TX and has 250 miles on it and she loves it. Rides nice thru the stutter bumps. Have not seen any really rough trails yet so no info on that yet.
With the rear of the sled up in the air the idler wheels are lower than the hifax. No need for larger wheels. Sled does not come with Dupont sliders. No hyfax wear in 250 miles.

I have 460 on my XTX LE with the singleshot. Cornering is spectacular for a 146' skid, with very little ski lift. I have had it at 250psi for all 460 miles, but I believe it is too stiff. I dropped the air down to 200psi and on my next trip will report back. The skid is a very simple design.

I have the updated shock on mine, the shock has more options to tune the ride for your weight and riding style, I haven't had enough time on the new updated shock to dial it in right for me (lack of snow) the little time I did have with shock set at 265 psi and both clickers set in the middle on 12, it rode nice on this setting but bottomed abit more than I liked, not harsh like the old shock at all, where I am a bigger guy I like to set the shock high and work down, I just finished pumping up the shock to 295 psi and damping clicker at 6 and adjust from there my next ride, I did notice though I lost 15 psi over a period of 6 weeks, but bad temp swing here last month or to.anymore reviews with the singleshot with the upgraded shock???

My fiance has been riding it and I have not even rode it one time .. maybe 800 miles on it so far and zero complaints. I would say it rides like a couch. I will try to get some seat time on it this weekend.

I have a little over 4,200 miles on my 2016 Apex XTX. About 2,000 on the original shock and about the same on the updated shock. Night and day difference! I think it rides quite nice with the update. Well worth the money.

I just drove it about 20 miles and its very impressive. I think it rides like a Cadillac. I will get the beast in some rough trails and give it some thrashing.

You should go over on the Quebec side right beside of Ottawa. East or North you won't regret it. In fact you won't even consider buying a Ontario pass next year. A week after the last rain the trails were back up with groomers on GPS passing overnight. Then you compare to the Ontario side just across the river and their trails stilled showed red. WTFnobody's riding, no snow!
Every time I ride a new area in Quebec I am amazed. The wide carpet like trails are better maintained than their roads.

My wife's sled is a 16 Apex XTX. I'm riding a 17 SW LTX LE, so plenty of opportunity to ride both. She is 4'11" and 150 lbs, so for her the rider forward (SW) has her sliding forward on the seat and on the gas tank most of the time. The XTX rider style with power steering is a much easier and more comfortable sled for her to ride. Typically we ride 120 - 160 miles a day, all in the U.P. Last season she logged 1,700 miles on the single shot with the original shock, hated it, was ready to trade the sled in after one season. Right at the end of the year, we upgraded to the new air shock and the difference is night and day. Originally, even set at the lowest rec. PSI the rebound was constantly slapping her butt and bouncing her off of the seat. No compliance on stutter bumps. The updated shock dramatically changed this. It is much more compliant, has more tuning options for rider weight. As of today she has 2,800 miles on the XTX, combined with the power steering and the ride quality now, she see's no reason to update. Additionally, she is running on the original hyfax and belt, 2 oil changes and lovin it. Performance wise, she has seen 104 on the GPS compared to my SW 109 GPS. My SW is on it's second set of hyfax and third belt. She has had zero warranty claims/work. (Other than updating the shock) My SW has had, flat spotted rollers, leaked coolant and lost turbo pressure thru a cracked boot and overheats way faster and more often than the XTX. That being said, I am also very satisfied with the SW. The issues I've had were all addressed quickly by my dealer (Meyer's in Ishpeming) and have not caused any lost riding time. Great customer service. Bottom line, we both like our sleds completely.
