mnm I was only at dealership 5 years. Sold hundreds of them. Never saw a blown up T-cat other than that older 3 cylinder Metro motor. Point is that if running correctly and you use scratchers or the loose snow overheating is not a issue. I dont believe it will be a issue on Viper.
You had the cat turbo? My dealer was a cat and Yamaha dealer,he had several blow up,now when I say blow up,i don't mean sieze up like a 2 stroke, but they get out of shape so the rings don't seat properly and have more blow by than allowed, they had some of them in the older chassie go down to,in fact when my sled was in being tested, they gave me a 11 ext to ride for the day,and when I started it up,it idles poorly and he just said it will come out of it,we just took it in trade, now I know why the guy traded it,ha ha he knew it was on its way out to,funny how some shops never see things like this, and others get all sorts of problem sleds,he was not proud to speak about the downed new procross turbos's he had,but glad mine was not the only one,and I ran that sled only on map 1 oof TD stage 4 v-19 and that was 205 hp plus his muffler, and any time I saw it overheat,i would pull right over, shut it down, cool it off as much as I could and when light was off continue on,mine had ugly brown oil all over the round air filter twice, and it should of been clear, the first 2500 miles went thru 6 belts, and one chaincase,2nd year 600 miles 4 more belts and one motor,my worst sled ever, and I have had over 40 sleds, and several cats, zrt's thundercats, and zr's580's never left me stranded but pissed off a lot, just glad its gone, and Yamaha has now built a big HP motor,i sure hope they have a good coolant solution for this new monster. Hey getting away from the turbo's for a second,do you rebuild shocks,if so my boys 06 rtx ape needs a mono rebuild,or he wants the fox megafloat, but I have not heard a lot of good or bad about the megafloat rear shock have you,do you have any suggestions for his shock delimma??
