Yamaha kit but sold the sled. I am waiting to see how the SW goes then decide what to buy in 18. Was hoping the SW had minimal issues and get Yamaha's 50th model but do not like the crap they are pulling right now on the suspensions.

No problem if your talking to me. To many little problems on these skids that AC new about years ago. I don't see the power of the SW and these skids matching up to well. Why were they not reinforced years ago. For this kind of money it's not right. I would be super pissed if I paid for an LE. I was going too and I'm glad I didnt ( sorry guys). That's BS.

My last off topic post,,,, I think the front arm RR parts and a real 4 wheel tri-hub delete kit are a must on this rear skid.
Back on topic, my rtx will be in my garage on saturday!!!!!!!!

I understand guys who ride whooped out trails wanting the beefed up suspension but I bought the Rtx le for the amazing new motor and q3 shocks. New headlight will be nice and the new look is cool. I've ridden the procross chassis for 3 seasons and the skid hasn't had 1 issue for me. To me riding these big heavy sleds like sno cross sleds is crazy! Eventually stuff will break if you pound them hard enough. 95 percent of the riding public will be fine with this skid and for the others I do understand you not being happy with Yamaha and voting with your wallet!

That is probably true but I believe Yamaha just took $ out of YOUR wallet. Think resale.I understand guys who ride whooped out trails wanting the beefed up suspension but I bought the Rtx le for the amazing new motor and q3 shocks. You really think most people who bought Le Sidewinders bought them for the R R skid! Kind of like the Skidoo Xrs. Skidoo had to soften the skid up because all the wannabes buy them. They look great and are the best of the best the brand has to offer. Let's see I paid roughly $14,100 for my Rtx Le and my a buddy bought a Se for $13,100. So for $1000 I get q3 shocks, heated seat and the blue color scheme. By spring ordering I got 3 yr warranty plus a jacket. To me the shocks are worth the extra coin by themselves and on resale it will be much easier to sell with the good shocks!

OK, back off topic. It still shows on yamaha's site that the 2016 viper rtx le had the race rear skid. Was that true??

From the pictures and a statement from Yamahahaha no rr skid. The only thing I have noticed is the running boards may be a little heavier they are flat on the edge vs se.OK, back off topic. It still shows on yamaha's site that the 2016 viper rtx le had the race rear skid. Was that true??

Everyone that tries to justify what they are getting in the LE package is just adding fuel to Yamaha's fire and helping them feel good in their decision to screw it's consumers. 1k for shocks good deal yes. Good to sell a sled based on certain points then screw the customer at the end = bad deal.
If you took your car in and said I need new shocks it's riding like crap and I think I need new breaks because it does not stop like it used to. The Place tells you ok I am going to put on these shocks and give you these upgraded ceramic breaks and the cost will be this much. Now you go to pick the car up and don't realize till you get home after someone tells you. Hey nice shocks those are a premium but what's with your breaks? I thought you were getting the upgraded ceramic ones? Would you not be pissed? That is 100% what Yamaha did. The price never went down, people were never notified that something changed. I am sure a lot of people that bought the LE's that do not frequent this and other informative sites have no clue that they did not take home what they thought they were buying in the spring. Major poor business model and false advertising. I don't care what their 'specs subject to change' bs says.

I agree shocks alone are worth the price but you paid for shocks and skid. The damage to the regular skid happens after you have good shocks. Because you don't feel the bumps and the weak parts fail because you don't need to slow down. It's a catch 22.You really think most people who bought Le Sidewinders bought them for the R R skid!
