Anyone having problems with their Y-Pipe?

anyone having problems with y-pipe wearing or burning out. on my 06 attak the first year dealer replaced under warrenty. 22000 km later the lefthand side , outer side has worn. found this out when changing the donuts. has anyone welded this before. when clamp over donut is tight does clamp still move. thanks got to work on sled now before the first snow.

Hmmmmm. never heard that problem before. Exhaust donuts? Really? Y pipes? Hmmm. Ok, I am being sarcastic (jokingly). Only happened to about a few hundred of us here on TY. Check out this thread. All the info you need. If not, so a search and you will find plenty more.

get the new ones made of ss from Yamaha.. it'll cost $200 but they'll last. Also Yamahas emissions warantee covers it.

the set the dealer changed are ss they said they were upgraded from original. told me they cost 800.oo for the set.

Yes Yamaha since last spring has offered new pipes not the titanium ones but stainless steel ones that should be a cure for alot of the problems im getting mine done in a few weeks i think its a little over $100 canadian for for the set of pipes.

$90.00 per side, $180.00 for the set...I bought a spare set this spring as back-up.

Because the exhaust system is part of the emissions system, you guys should not have to pay for Y pipes or donoughts if your sled is within the 5 year emissions warranty period.

Parts & labor should be covered by Yamaha.

Is the 5 year emissions warranty a factory, transferable warranty --- or was it part of a YES warranty?

The emissions warranty is separate from the YES. If you have YES then you have no worries. Everybody has the emissions warranty and I believe that it extends to anybody that owns the sled in the first 5 years.

Some guys have had to fight their dealer to get it covered under the emissions warranty but they did finally prevail. Some guys have questioned if the emissions warranty is the same in Canada and I am not sure about that.
