Onlyblue has the ice ripper on two of his sleds and loves the track.
It seems some of the real ealry tracks that where made when they first came out the tracks didn't hold up well.

I have an ice ripper track on my apex and I love it. Depending on how you like your sled to feel when riding you may or may not like the track. The ice ripper does not hook up as good as regular studs. Some say it is like having 96 studs, but I would not know because I can only compare to a sled with 144 studs. The track is for trail riding, it gives you the benefit of not having to worry about your back end getting in front of you, and at the same time the track will not keep pushing the sled straight through the corners. It is hard to explain, but I do love mine and will most likely put them on my sleds when given the chance. Also I believe that they are not to be additionally studded.

I've had two Ice rippers with over 6000 miles. Great track for all around use. My 08 will wear oneas well.

I have over 2000 miles on mine with no problems.
I agree with tkuss on how it works. Not as good as a studded track, but it doesn't tear up your tunnel either. It says right on the track "Do no use studs"
I avoid hammering the throttle from a dead stop on ice. Otherwise I beat the heck out of it.
I like it better than studs for the hardpack and it worked pretty well in the deep snow around Redfield NY last winter. I broke a lot of trails up there without getting stuck.
I would buy it again.

I have two of them, one with 2000 miles on a 05 Vector, the other 1200 miles on 07 Attak.... both tracks look and perform like brand new.... i truly love this track, it works perfect for how i like to ride.... little extra traction on accelleration, way better braking then no studs.... and no worries of throwing a stud thru a cooler, no added weight, and no maintenance replacing bent/broke/missing studs.
this track is not a lake racer, but it is a great trail track. This track will be on all my sleds from here on out..... i am sold on it. Not only does it have some benefits of the studs, it also seems to work better off trail due to the fact that the little fingers on the ripsaw, some of them are now filled in with rubber and a little stud, so therefore it is more of a paddle for the off trail stuff.
I have heard a few people complain about problems, but honestly both of my tracks look brand new and not one complaint or problem here.
Great job camoplast.... great product.

Any top end differences from a ripsaw?

i never ran my attak with the ripsaw, but did not see a loss of top end on the vector.... remember this track is only like 5 lbs heavier than a rip saw, not like conventional studs (144 have to weigh closee to 15-20 lbs with backers and nuts.)

Can someone explain to us thta have had problems with the track why? I wonder if there was a bad batch of tracks ? I have hammered mine but from dead stops or on low snow conditions and was stuck only once and lifted sled out and set rear over no abuse or it sinking into a hole etc and catching debris.

I think Camo does have bad batches of tracks. I know many/most '02 Polaris XP tracks never made it past 4000 miles......FWIW

Took the ripsaw off before she ever hit the snow and replaced it with the "new and improved" Ice Ripper. (The carbides were supposed to be embedded better to decrease stud loss and they were also longer)
I love this track. Absolutely no complaints!!!

How do you know if you have the "new and improved" version ? Are there any manufacturing date codes on these tracks ?

Dealer showed me the old one before putting the newer version on my sled. I am not sure if there are any specific numbers that designate the newer version but the carbides are noticeably longer by at least 1/8" and actually protrude further out of the lug. You would easily be able to pick out the new track if you know what the old version looks like.
