I’m tired of spending 4-5 hundred on grills just to buy a new one 3-5 years later, and that’s after replacing burners and grates! What’s good out there that will last?

I've owned a Weber Performer for almost 20 yrs. Just replaced the grill and igniter last season. Uses propane to start your charcoal. Has a nice prep table, hooks for hanging your utensils, and a hopper for charcoal storage. You can find them online for around$400.

the last one i bought is a next grill (i think) from walmart for under $300 for a full stainless one about 3 years ago. grills let go and the drip tray rotted out last year but all the burners and heat deflectors are still good even after the snow from the roof fell on it last winter.

Weber genesis user here. Had the 1st one for 10 years and only thing we replaced was the tent looking things. Outgrew it and my in-laws are using it weekly at their resort for the Thursday hotdog cook every week weather permitting. I bought the same one again but a 4 burner this time. We cook on it year round and fro March to November probably use it 5 nights a week. I have a charcoal barrel that I use for long cooks but anything fast for dinner gets done on the gasser.

I had a Weber genesis for over 10 years, the frame rotted on it and the grill still worked excellent. I have a q2000 portable grill now, it will cook 3 racks of ribs at a time perfectly. I won't buy anything but a Weber now

Get a Traeger pellet grill. You will never go back.
I have the Weber Summit all stainless steel. Its fallen off my deck. About a 10 foot drop. Replaced the lid that broke in the fall.
Still works like new after 14yrs of use. No burner issues. Unlike like my previous units that lasted about 3 seasons.

Weber Genie for the win. Finally bought one a couple years ago after getting tired of the disposable ones with uneven heat. Neighbour has one that's 10 years old sitting out exposed all year round. Still looks brand new and he's never done a thing to it.

It's all in what you wanna do with it, and how long you want it to last.
My weber genesis Silver has been around 15 years. I replaced the burner once, and the "flavor bars" teepee things twice. It was consistent, and even heat. Do yourself a favor and keep a factory cover on it if at all possible.
To be honest, since buying our Traeger roughly one year ago, we only use the Weber as a sear station. And I have gotten good at searing on the Traeger now. If Weber had it's new pellet grill out last year, I would have bought it. It's out now, I would consider it strongly, but at $1200, that's probably above your price point.
When I wanted to cook fast, the Weber was the go to tool of choice. And still makes steaks perfectly. But with a bit more time now, the Traeger is my tool of choice. Again, it's all in what you value. There are no wrong answers.

310. 3 burner. Great size and got it on sale with a wireless temp probe accessory. connects with your phone to let you know the temperature of meat and timing etc. kind of cool but I don't use that very often.

Genesis II 310 (3 burners) or 410 (4 burners) both excellent grills, just depends on how big of a grill you need.
I bought my first Weber gasser new for $399 owned it for 19 years and sold it for $125, still in great shape and cooked great. I now own 2 Genesis 330 grills I bought used on Craigslist for $225 each (1 for home and 1 for the place up north). Both about 6 years old, just needed a good clean up. I've always kept my grills in the garage when not in use, they last a lot longer out of the weather.
