I forgot to mention when I tightened my track to spec I also shortened limiter strap one hole. It now sits in the middle Hole position .
It seems to be better and hasn't chewed through to the rail yet.

GUYS YOU WILL SEE THIS GET BETTER AS THE TOLERANCE ON THE NEW DRIVE SPROCKETS ARE VERY TIGHT WHEN NEW, AND TAKES LIKE 2 TO 3 HUNDRED MILES AND THE SPROCKET WILL ACTUALLY WEAR MINIMUAL BUT ENOUGH TO ROTATE EASIER ON LUGS OF TRACK.

I'm very surprised that more people haven't chimmed in on this or are we the only ones that have opened up our sled and asked what happened to the top end speed.[/quote]
The 2010 speedos are calibrated more accurately. Other years they where off up to 15mph.It's about time they did something about thier DREAM METERS.

Beech; How many miles on your sled now? Did the adjustment help?

About 400 miles.
Adjusting the track and limiter strap seemed to help and
the noise from track between 30 and 40 mph decreased
a lot.

After 950miles....the sprocket problem is here again....solution coming in the next weeks with the dealer... We tight the track like the spec of 2009- and the noise and vibration are coming at higher speed.
The dealer will try the replace the extro sprocket by the same intro sprocket....it supposed to fit...first test on the dealer's demo(Apex LXT-GT). The 2010 sprocket are B/O for the moment...
Yamaha Canada have no report of vibration or noise on their 2010 sled...we are just 3 owners at the same dealer to report this at this time... The Vector are supposed to have the same sprocket like the Apex...
For the performance and speed.... the Yamaha strap for 2010 are very hard to operate, they slip and run hotter. Few people said that they loose some RPM and top speed with the new strap. Yamaha have change his strap shop for 2010, Yokohama I guest. The Carlisle XS-805 seems to be the choice for racers. Runs cooler, no slippage, more precision...I order one.
For the speed, the new accuracy of the speedo is the cause...older apex who runs 185-190km/h.....cut 20km/h and I have my reel number, 163km/h my best before cam adjust and other...
So, if U have problems with your 2010 Apex or Vector....say it now to your dealer!
(I run an Apex LTX-GT with 24tooth gear(23 stock))
Cam at 6-1 now, and with the new strap I hope to have 300RPM more, so 10800-10900RPM. test coming this weekend!

Good info keep us informed. If you have part number for the drivers the dealer is changing to can you post next time. let us know if it gets rid of the noise and vibration and what it does for speed.
Also you mentioned you will be using a XS805 belt. Can you post your results on this as well.
Thanks

On re reading your thread again you mentioned that Yamaha for 2010 changed suppliers of their belts and the 2010 are having issues. So I have some new Yamaha belts that will fit from the previous year manufacture I will try.
Keep it coming

I informed my dealer of this thread and they will monitor it to get whatever info they can about this. With our lack of snow this year so far most of the 2010 sleds don't have any miles on them yet; I only have abuot 100 on mine and my buddy who also bought the GT LTX this year has about the same, so they haven't had any issues reported as of yet. Appreciate updates as changes or issues occur

Now at 1200miles. Yesterday I run 300miles with my new setup.
Belt Carlisle XS-805, clutch at 6-1. Wow! Its a new sled! Acceleration are better, top speed 4 km/h better...166km/h. At w.o.t it goes to 10300rpm, next go up to 10500 for a time and at 150km/h it goes to 10900 and near 11000rpm.
It takes same gaz than other apex(6) with me.
Next mods....turning and the sprockets

is this true with the 08 ltx gt as well?apltx08 said:Beech said:What I'm noticing now is that the front slide protector
is getting chewed up by the track.
I have been sledding on lakes with about 10 inches of soft snow so there is more then ample lubrication.
If you ride in a lot of deep powder with a MONO you MUST shorten your LIMITER STRAP cuz the front rails sharp approach angle will STAB clips and tarck and will chew you rail caps and pull track clips off...check to see if you havn't lost any clips.Your also right on the LOOSE track in deeper snow it'll tend to STAB your rail caps. You just can't win, you either set-up for TRAIL riding on BACK COUNTRY...

Now......now the vibration is solved. The right-inner sprocket was 3/16" next to the right place. So the tooth were going on the "rubber pins".
After this, no more vibrations!
The dealer have tried without extro-sprocket and there is not 1km/h faster than with it....so no difference!
With the helix at 6-1 and the 24th tooth gear, the best top speed is 180km/h at 10800Rpm and the best Rpm is 11000.
On the acceleration over 120km/h its 10900-11000 and over 155km/h, 10800Rpm. Big satisfaction!
2010 sleds are supposed to have a different kind of oil for breaking time. The peak HP is comming later....about 3000-4000km....I can confirmed.
From 0km to end of breaking time there is 8-12hp of gain....dyno proof.
The peak Hp for 2009 and later was coming at 1500-2000km.....
The Pioneer sway bar is....incredible!!!
Artic Cat front coil spring is a good mod for handling. The right target for handling is 17-18inch of height from floor to the point of bumper.
Carlisle belt is a big disaster....max 800-1000km...they cut like a knife cut!
A friend cut is Carlisle on a lake at 170km/h....all the pans and plastics around the clutch and cover were scrap.....800$$$
Yamaha OEM belt is better than we tought.
In conclusion:
-Front Artic Cat coil spring
-Pioneer sway bar
-180km/h (hard snow)
-No Carlisle belt
-5050km this season!
After this, no more vibrations!
