got my seat almost done, had to make a fiberglass pan for it and got the foam work done but still working on the design and patterns to make the cover for it, only 4lbs so far, cover shouldnt add much to it.
hood frame is done, got the mesh fabric to cover it but ran out of time tonight.

thats officially the COOLEST sled ever. I love the build idea.

the plastic looks to fit quite nice, you should get some more pictures up of the setup, I like examining the details on custom builds. they give me lots of ideas for my own projects.

WOW I love custom builds, yet another one off sled, pretty darn cool :)

well I must say I am a little dissapointed, after weighing it again dry ready to go except batt, seat cover and hood cover it comes in at 465lbs, well over my target of 450. but I am happy still with the way its looking and feels, putting the engine together today that I will be dropping into it, the one in it now has a bad rod so has been just for muckup. I am a little shocked after finishing up the back of the tunnel just how long it makes the sled look now, gues that happens when your running a 174

finally done!

I havent been on the forum much recently working long hours, but the sled is done and I have a couple hundred miles on her now, put a quick seat cover together for it but waiting on some material to make the permanant one.
so far its works great, riding with a nytro so can hop back and forth to compare handling, they are so close to feeling the same it isnt even funny, slight differences, my steering effort is less than the nytro even though I have alot more ski pressure, my turning radius is actually less but in the tress and such I can way out turn the nytro. my front skid shock is a little too light, thinking I may go back to my titanium spring fox shock there even though it wieghs a tad more than the walker evans air.
I was a bit worried about the coolers on the running boards being enough but this weekend I towed back our nytro 10 miles on hard trail and it never saw above 180deg!
the tunnel dump exhaust in the really deep stuff starts to get packed up, a deflector is still in the works.

The weight is no doubt impressive. Is that everything except gas. I need to get my yamadoo on a scale. I doubt it is that light though.

Very impressive. That weight to power ratio has to be a blast out there? Being able to flick the body and the throttle=best of both worlds from what I can see ;)!

lol, yeah, thats one of my next projects to make a topper for the trailer in the next couple weeks.

the weight on the scale shown is dry, no coolant or fuel, with the coolant in it was 465.
I havent turned the boost back up yet since Im still breaking the engine in but its about time, she is only at 6psi now which feels nice but turning it back up to 14-16psi should make a world of difference.

I didnt get as much riding in last march/april as I would have liked, but there are still some tuning issues to work out, the stainless flex joint i used failed rather quickly, so need to hunt down a better one.
planning to move the turbo back a tad and run a rev tank on it this year, the Yamaha tank just puts the seating position to far back and feels way to wide when standing and I think the lower center of gravity the rev tank offers would help out a bit too.

few things I noticed last year, when sidehilling the more throttle you give her the more the front wants to point uphill, or more so the rear feels like it slips downhill, not to sure how to correct this, I think in part its the track, I've been a finger track guy for a long time but alas they don't offer a 174, in other part i think i made the running boards a bit wide towards the rear and they are dragging too much in the snow.
the second major quirk is the weight transfer to the front when letting off the throttle takes some getting used to, the front feels so light with even the slightest throttle change that when you let off if your not pointing the skis in the right direction it can catch you off gaurd, only really a problem on harder snow conditions.
all in all i'm very happy with the total package though, very nimble in the trees which is where i do most of my riding, so much so that most of my riding partners don't want to ride with me anymore because i get em in so much trouble, lol

The scales are about $1,000 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/REB-110-1111/
