wow, not to hijack a post or anything but where do I order a BlueDave garage kit. I love it. I have a jet ski, 2 Harley's, A Zero Turn mower, and the sled, then gotta fit in the wifes Tahoe, my 2500HD Crew Cab, and sideways in the back we have her BMW Z4, its cramped in there to say the least, but the loft storage thing would free up a lot of room, lately my 2500 Denali HD has been living outside, she is lonely lol. Now on the original topic, I drop my sled off every spring to my stealer (aka Yamaha Dealer) and give him the direction of "Replace anything that needs replacing, and change the oil" I provide the oil, I use Amsoil. All sleds have issues from time to time, and routine maintenance can reduce this, and every so often you do run into a lemon, but on the whole I would not trade my yamaha for any other brand on the trails. There is just nothing out there IMHO that will run the hard miles year after year and mine has never left me on the side of a trail, although it has left me in the parking lot at the trailhead, but that was operator error in trying to drive it off the trailer before it was properly warmed up. I have had 4 yamaha snowmobiles, and I loved them all.

I made an aluminum platform that is lifted up and down on a four point harness by an electric chain hoist in the ceiling. I can get four sleds up on the storage loft by alternating them facing in and out.
When the platform is lifted flush with the storage loft then two bolts secure it to threaded mounting plates in the loft beam and then two legs on the other end of the platform swing down and lock in place.
Once the platform is bolted to the beam and the legs are locked in place then I can release the four point hoist harness and the platform is free standing flush with the storage loft.
The sleds are on rollers and they are rolled on and off of the platform and lifted up and down. In the winter I put the summer toys up there. It really saves on the floor space in my garage.
That is a great idea. I have been thinking about doing something like that in my garage but I don't have as much room or as many toys.

We have some skate rollers at work that I was going to use as ramps. I thought I would put my sled on a piece of plywood or a small platform and winch it up to the platform. I need to go take some measurements

What is the height of your ceiling? How much head room is under the loft?
