New member but have owned 2003 RX1 Spec.edition 2004 Warrior spec.edition and now have 2006 Apex Gt in shed.Have gutted exhaust on the warrior with no problems, excellent sound, and would like to know if anyone knows about problems doing the same to the Apex Gt with fuel injection.Snows coming would like to get er done!

well mine is all done on my rtx,was told that any exhaust mods will not effect the efi, even aftermarket exhaust wont bother it,time will tell,i cut 1 and 1/2 lbs out of mine, every little bit help huh, sounds awesome,i went a littel wilder than i had my 03 shorty done and im glad i did ,it sounds awesome

It's a great idea if you are trying to get the trail systems to close.

Don't you guys realize that the only thing acceptable that's loud is a POS Harley 8)

I agree loud sleds are bad news,we have enough problems here in Michigan and anywere else for that matter already.

Sounds fine stock

These sleds sound absolutely awesome with the stock exhaust. Why is the a need to make more noise? Your HP gains, if any, will be minimal.

Need positive info

I've posted my question for some useful info and did't mean to get everybody all riled up over noise etc. I've got a genuine question and if anyone else can provide some info that would be much appreciated. On my Warrior, I only removed some baffles to make a nicer sound not just to make a bigger noise. I've had alot of comments from guys that said it sounded much nicer than stock.Need info on performance loss or gains .The rest of you can worry about trails in your regions and I "ll manage the Western Quebec Snowmobile Association trails. Thanks for the response anyways. :yam:

This really sounds like a ME ME ME ME attitude. We all have to do our part to keep our trails and you in Quebec should be all the more worried you already lost some trails to noise. :? :? :?

cat hunter, sorry if we seem harse but somebody has to tell it like it is. The #1 threat to snowmobilers loosing trails is noise. If we don't give you a hard time, people that can shut down the trails will :ORC

First off, not only is this site a plethora of information, but it also hosts many members that have very good advice. Everyone here cares very deeply about the snowmobiling sport and no one wants to see any more trails get closed because of noisy exhaust.
I don't think anyone is getting riled up, they just are looking out for fellow snowmobilers.

just my $.02.

And good luck with your exhaust.

;)!
