All right the Michigan registration tag is big, and ugly. It never looks good any where. On my 2005 RX1 I mounted it on a thin piece of metal, then riveted the tag below the hood on each side.
So on the Apex GT where does it look best. I know I will rivet it below the hood line, but exactly where???? Show me some pictures if you can.

I put the tag on a black plastic backer and riveted to the side down low near the footwell. One problem not much of a flat surface to attach too. If you put the backer on first cut to the size of the sticker then you can cover the rivets with the sticker. I used a level to keep it streight and about 2 inches from the bottom as far back as I could get it on a flat surface.

I did the exact same thing Arctic did for NYS reg. I agree no flat spot and ended up mounting it right need the footrest. My sticker is only 3 inch by 5.75 inch.

Would like to see pics of the guys who riveted a plate then put sticker on. I may do same thing with my NY reg.

I put mine on with small #6 countersunk phillips screws. Plastic plate is about 3/16 inch thick and I countersunk this. then pasted the sticker right over it. The benefits are it is removable and there are no imperfections showing through the sticker. I will try to take a picture.

THis is the way the Registration was attached. Used a black plastic material as backer and then riveted to side. Leveled it with ground and tried to find a flat spot to mount it on. Only problem I should have riveted the backer on first then attached sticker that way the rivets would not show. Have to wait 3 years for sticker to expire to put a new one on.

I did the same thing on my RX and Vector and used plexi glass. I made the plexi the exact size of the sticker, Rivited them on and then put the sticker on. you just need to be carful when cuting and drilling so you don't crack them but once they are on they are good to go. Will likley do the Apex the same. kviper
