I only did a small lap around the yard the first night I got my CPR kit installed, just to find any leaks, etc. For the second trip around the yard, I tweeked a couple settings and just rolled on the throttle and watched the gauges closely. Boost was set a little too high, so I turned it down and this time I actually had just a little over 8psi and more than safe on the afr. I took it on a short slow trail ride to the local sled hangout (38*F so nobody else out). They have a super nice long field to race your buddies. I didn't try it from a dead start, but just kept pouring it on until full throttle watching the afr and boost. I have no idea where it was taching at, but it was effortless to hit triple digits! I can see how you would want to keep turning up the boost.
I couldn't stop laughing in my helmet! Screw everybody else. I decided the only people that would get any seat time on this besides myself are my brothers and one friend. All the rest can think I'm a dick, but if some body else wrecks my sled, they better die! I use my head because I have little ones at home, but I see how a lot of people could over do it in the trails.
I put the computer plugs back in stock position and set the throttle position sensor using the diagnostics of the sled, and the tors was better, but when I got in the woods, it acted up again 3 times. I'll just bypass the tors. I don't need anyone packing my sh*t if the tors kicks in. Besides the tors, I just need some seat time to tweek the afr readings a little, but no major issues. As soon as I get my hobbs switch from Jeff, I'll start beating up on my buddies.
Final thoughts after my first safe test run...These sled aren't cheap and neither are the turbo kits, but while installing the cpr kit, you can easily see the effort Jeff put into making everything. Lots of time invested I'm sure. I tried not to take up any more of his time than I had to when asking him questions. He delivers a quality kit, and support to back it up. Very pleased Jeff. Thanks!
After I get a few more thing finished on it, I'll post pictures. I always like to do some things a little different. ;)!
Just curious...on a stock motor Apex w/the cpr turbo at 8psi, what kind of speeds do people hit (set up for trails)? Thanks!

Glad to see you're getting it working. You'll be glad that you got a good kit and will have lots of troublefree miles, Ken.

snowprophet1 - Good to hear she's doing fine :)

I can hear you on the I'll better not let others ride my sled thing.

Here's my take on it:
1. They may not understand what they're dealing with.
2. If anybody else wrecks my sled I would never be able to forgive them. The work and love put into my sled is irreplacable.
3. My friends do not have the money to buy me a new '08 Apex with turbo and go fast stuff of my choise. And they could never build the sled to my standards either.
4. When someone asks to ride my turbo, my answere is: If someone is going to destroy my sled it better be me. Wanna ride a turbo Yammi huh? Build one yourself.
5. I can have your brand X sled if something goes wrong ???? No way.

I want a Simons CPR kit as well on my next sled.

I let Bountyhunter ride one of our sleds a few years back. I could hear him screaming inside his helmet from a few hundred feet away. he was one of a select few that have ever ridden one of our sleds...

I have put over 500 miles on my 2006 Attak with a Simons CPR turbo kit. I can't stop smiling. I rode a REV last year and can't believe how much I enjoy riding the Yamaha. The power is unbelieveable. The mileage is good and the sled handles the trail great. My friends won't race with me anymore. Jeff does an awesome job.

A long time ago a freind let me ride his brand new 02 viper when I was used to riding polaris 440's, gutsy move and guess what I have a HARD time riding aything but a yamaha now. If you got the money to buy a new sled and put a $5000 turbo plus all the money of extras into it, I would let deserving souls ride it. Not any tom dick and harry mind you but a guy/kid that really earned it I would hand over the keys and say be careful! You can buy the exact same thing if it gets totalled, just be more worried about the kid getting hurt!

Glad you like the kit, I'm curious how the manifolds will hold up to trail riding. If they prove out to be no issue I may lean towards the same thing in a year or two.

After you hit over 20 psi then you will say ,I want more, give me more.Hope you have lots of safe riding and fun .

Boost is addictive - you'll allways want more

It's killing me! Ready to go but no snow! Just wondered, on an apex w/the cpr kit, how many psi of boost on 93 octane w/your compression lowered, and do you notice a lack of power below boost levels? Just wondered if I should stack gaskets over the summer, or just enjoy as is? Can't wait to ride!! ;)!
