the question is on the cam timing. are you grinding the gear on the intake or exhaust cam? I thought exhaust but the instuctions read kind of weird.

Intake cam is the one you are grinding, whos kit you running?

I don't like grinding the gear myself.

the kit is mcx. are you sure its the intake gear that I grind the bolt holes on? If so I was about to screw this thing up. thanks for any help.

I don't know how MCX does it but the powderlites kit grinds the instake gear.

Does the MCX directions want you to grind the gear?

Stepup,
Please take a moment to update your profile with your location as this is a site requirement.

Thank you,

Yes it's the gear on the intake cam you shall grind. The cam gear shall be moved in the clockwise direction.

Do you have the MCX install manual?

Holding the intake cam gear in front of you with the two cam bolt holes at the 12 & 6:00 positions:

You would grind on the left side of the top hole, and the right side of the bottom hole. When you put the cam bolts through the oblonged hole you want the flange of the bolt to just meet the outer edge of the closest cam gear hole.

And the verdict is....INTAKE. Thanks for the input guys. Going back together now, hope to have it running by this weekend. CANT WAIT!!! later, stepup
