I know a few others have done projector retrofits on apex's but just thought I would share my latest project. I went a little overboard on this project compared to my last, headlight reflectors are painted satin white, shrouds are candy blue and also added halo rings and colour changing demon eyes. The hid's are Morimoto 35W with 4500K bulbs in mini H1 7.0 projectors with custom etched tuning fork lenses.
Details on function:
I wanted full control of all lights and for them to also be somewhat automatic so I added various switches and wired into specific power sources to get the result I was looking for.
- demon eyes are wired into key on power so they can be on with just the key say for a trailside stop at night
- halos are wired to engine running power so they turn on when the engine starts
- the full headlights are also powered by the engine running source but have a push-button switch to turn them off. I intended to turn these off during the day and just run the halos (in clear weather)
