I have been getting a lot of crap about how the dragon is going to beat the Apex. I think it will be close, what do you think.
I asked my buddy how much of a head start does he need.

This is how the bench racing starts.... dont worry about it, take it to the lake and make them shut their mouths.

I doudt it will beat you on the top end. But, you will lose if you are not setup right.

I went up against one in a hill climb two years ago with my 06' RTX stock except 22-40 gearing and 144 double/single Woody’s. I trenched in the starting gate, he took off like a bat out of hade’s. I caught up to him fairly easy, just didn't get past him in time. He was clutched, 1.5 or 1.75 track and some other mods. Not dogging the Dragon but I personally think the Apex given traction should smoke a Dragon. Just make sure you don’t have any issues, I.E. fresh clutching, decent belt, good transfer setting, if running floats, drop them to 35-40. Shouldn’t really be an issue, especially on the top end.

There was no such thing as a Dragon 800 2 years ago. You sure it wasnt a 700?

I think this is the first year for the 800. I think you ran a 700. It doesn't matter what you run in trail form, a well set-up Apex can hold its own.

The 800 came out last year, but was only available in the Mountain version.

The 800 dragon RMK was the only one in the book last winter but they did relase a few others after i think around earily february i did hear of one guy getting one i guess they were worried they would turn out like the 900's so they give them a test I know all about the 900's i bought the fusion the first year it came out lost motor at 1000miles then the next year i got the 900 switchback which was spose to have the motor issues sorted out and lost that motor at 1000miles so i sold the switchback to a guy here and he never had it long before the motor blew again what a piece of s#$%. Oh and i'm not sure how much faster the 800 is going to be than their 900 (boy that sounds funny) but my attak was faster than the 900 before i added the boost. I guess i'll soon find out about the 800's tho theres 2 of them here this year. I know it will be a joke for the attak but can't wait to try the nytro against them she ran good last winter.

i'll let you know in few weeks. Im heading up to qubec on Jan 1st. My buddy has a new 800 dragon. I rode it, very nice sled but too close to tell by seat of the pants speed wise. Really couldn't race as there was no safe place to really let em rip when we rode. He should have plenty of break in miles by our trip so i'll let you know. I have an '06 RTX and he had the same sled too before the new Poo and he realy can't tell if it's faster either. The throttle response on the Apex is umatched, I can tell you that.

800 dragon have a lot of torque in the bottom end department. They are strong out of the hole.
My friend have a 08 800 mountain 163. I was'nt able to beat him on top with my Rx-1 mountain with 162 x 2.5 x 16 track.
With my apex, its another story.
Judge by ourself . mine is the white one.

Your right, probably was a 700, I didn't and still don't really pay attention to the Polaris stuff. Been there done that. I like the racer but, it's not a trail sled so that's it. Is the 800 much better than the 700, I thought the 700 was pretty strong? At any rate, I wouldn't worry too much, as stated, the main thing will be hooking up, if you do, your gone.

700 is strong on top End, they not much difference between 800 and 700, but 800 have way more torque.
700 ran with RX-1
800 with Apex.
from what i seen when we are drag race with our mountain sled on Hard. Stock for stock
