My buddy who is SO HAPPY he went 150 miles the other day with out blowing a belt on his 800 cat will be happy to hear the three belts he blew and had to replace at 150$ was all unnecessary .
Cats eat belts in pro cross chassis, turbos probably faster

Need to keep this accurate please, 2014 Cats do not blow belts. For some reason after thier partnership with Yamaha the Cats are now a slightly different sled....odd huh?

Can ya just feel the "LOVE" on this post ???????? Well I can't say anything one way or the other because I've never ridden either sled.......... But I do know how trouble free my 05 vector with just under 11,000 miles has been.. Then there's my wife's 01 V-max 700 with just under 11,000 trouble free miles.... I put new belts on both last year for the first time... Both used ones still in spec. At least both 2 / 4 stroke yammies seem to be good motors.....Now shake hands and go outside and "R_I_D_E" MM.

Is it as reliable? Maybe so. They last a long time. I'm not defending AC but that Suzuki twin is a beast. Even a turbo'd Viper (at a cost of $5k + the additional weight) would have a hard time with it. And will a turbo'd Yamaha last as long as a NA Suzuki 2 stroke?......
Guys c'mon just trying to have some fun. Read what I said above. Even when I said the mighty Phazer spend 4 years running with the big boys and survived you turned my words around. I guess I see now that I can't win no matter what I say. I apologize for the butthurt, enjoy your Cats. Now, I have to go dig out because we got another foot of snow!

I have seen some amazing NA Phazers out there, long tracked and geared down, proper clutching. Good times , you don't go any were fast but hell you have an amazing time getting there! A little bit more work on the big steep hills but nothing a side hill ..... or maybe two wont fix

Yup. I had mine stretched to a 136. Tunnel closed in, slydog skis, bigger riser, roll over valve. I went everywhere the big dogs went except I was always pinned. Amazing the beating it took. I find the pro cross chassis to rise very similar to it. Much more so than the rev I had, even though the cat chassis is a virtual copy.

I'm convinced that the belt eating is more likely caused by the TCL (Torque Control Link) allowing the secondary and jackshaft to move back and forth with the engine then by the clutches. I'm guessing you won't see any problems on the 7000's with the TCL deleted like the Vipers.

Arctic Cat is touting that they have their clutches worked out this year. 30% cooler running and no blown belts. But they don't mention that Yamaha is the one who helped them get it figured out.
To the posters who think that any 2 stroke will last as long as a 4 stroke needs to go back to school.
Also let's not forget that HP is nothing but the end result of a mathematical formula. Torque is REAL. So in the end that is why you hear stories of 150HP Apex machines running with much higher HP sleds , namely 2 strokes.
