Just purchased a 2015 Triton clamshell and I want to protect the axle before it gets too rusty. What does everyone use on the axle to protect it from the salt/sand etc? Does anyone coat the aluminum beams underneath the trailer? If so what do you use?

Look up "rust converter" and maybe just a simple undercoating?

I have used fluid film to get at the areas around the torsion spring and wheel axle. Otherwise I have crawled underneath and used cheap axle grease to coat it.
I bit messy but seems to keep the corrosion at bay.

been getting my current trailer undercoated every year with the truck.

I use mastercoat permanent rust sealer. The company is in West Milford NJ. The coating comes in quarts. It is aluminized paint you can weld over. It goes on with a foam brush or foam roller. It self levels and a quart goes a long way.
I just did my father's F-250 frame with it.
I believe I did 2 coats and used 1 1/2 quarts with doing tank shields and leaf springs.
