Do you have a gasket ready yet?Should have some production samples this week to test. If this gasket idea works out I really don't see why anyone would screw around with all the gasket maker goo....

Have some details to address on this yet. If bolts are torqued to factory spec it can actually tear the rubber gasket so working to resolve this. Hope to get some new drawings made up this week and more samples made up.

Gasket material and design is finalized. Backing off on the torque spec alleviates the tearing that was occurring and does not cause any issues with it sealing. Will likely suggest applying blue Loctite to bolts when assembling. Next test is installing it on a working sled to put it through some heat cycles.

Heat cycled a sidewinder a few times with the gasket installed and the bolts are holding the torque that I initially set them at. For piece of mind I think I may still suggest a little blue loctite for piece of mind.
Holes in gasket are sized so the bolts are snug and hold the gasket in place for assembly.
Sidewinder will require a little material to be trimmed off the strainer so the gasket can overhang correctly inside. Strainer on left is one that has been altered.

I do not know if this valid question but would gasket blow out just like the silicone if roll over valve is frozen and pressure builds to high and start leaking oil? Many have bypassed roll over valve and this would not be an issue for them, but some have not because of where and conditions they ride in.

What material is this and do you have a metal carrier in the rubber to support it? The tearing occurs due to the fact your missing a core and it has no load stops.

The nature of the surfaces between the two halves would not allow for any metal in the gasket. The gasket has to be able to stretch and compress to conform to the joint.
I'm aware that there are no load stops. I originally hoped that the durometer of the rubber would be tough enough to withstand the factory torque spec of 12 ft lbs. Right now my test sled is torqued at 6 ft lbs and has not leaked. Each day I heat sled up to overheat shut down at idle and then let it cool down overnight. In morning I check the bolts and so far they have been holding at 6 ft lbs with no loctite applied.
If they would have used a normal thread on the bolts then I could look to use some shoulder bolts to limit the compression but the screws/thread they use is certainly not anything normal....thank you again AC!

I can't see the rubber gasket blowing out regardless of how much pressure builds up. I've put up to 30 psi of pressure on a tank and dunked it and it held just fine. The top cap of the tank where the roll over valve hose connects is sealed on the top with rtv sealant. I think this joint will essentially serve as a relief valve and fail before the rubber gasket should the tank build some excessive pressure. The tank I was testing started leaking at this joint. When dunked in water at times I even had leakage at the oil level sight hose.
With this said I do have a solution that should with 100% certainty ensure the tank never even gets to build enough pressure to damage to any seal. I will be starting a new thread to discuss this: Barn of Parts Roll Over Valve By Pass

Any news on this gasket ?
Never mind. I just found it for sale on your site.

Just ordered the gasket. My 2018 with 3500 miles just started seeping after sitting and periodically running all year. I had a separate hose venting the tank from day one so its not pressure. I believe in time the rtv will seep. Its a dumb idea. Hopefully this gasket will last a lot longer as I love the sled and plan on keeping it.

My 2018 started seeping late last season. I had also done the roll over valve bypass when it was new. Ordered a gasket form Travis and installed it in the spring. It‘s nice and dry now.

Good to hear. The rtv probably gives up after a while with so many heat and cold cycles. Mine looks like it started next to the muffler. I like the gasket idea better. My 2018 started seeping late last season. I had also done the roll over valve bypass when it was new. Ordered a gasket form Travis and installed it in the spring. Just bought it, so do I only torque it to 6 Ft lbs ? Or can I go to factory spec 12 Ft lbs ?

Do whatever Travis recommends. He tested them. Didnt get mine yet so dont know, but I believe he posted the torque somewhere.Just bought it, so do I only torque it to 6 Ft lbs ? Or can I go to factory spec 12 Ft lbs ?
