Battery with more CCA

I ended up buying the one in my previous post. Cranks way better than the OEM unit. Listed price included shipping and it arrived a day earlier than promised. Impressed so far.

I just received my EarthX battery for my motorcycle. I decided to give it a try. When i openned the box, I thought they sent me a book. It was so light, my son thougth I was scammed. I can't believe the size and weight. Feels fake. Time will tell. I will report back when I get it installed. Oh and by the way, I received it in two days with standard shipping.

I have been using an Earth X lithium battery in my Attak for 6 seasons now. I have not had any issues starting the sled except when it is very cold the sled cranks quite slow initially. After you crank it for a few seconds, two or three times, the engine begins cranking over much faster as the cranking load heats the battery up. Because of the initial cranking speed and the Apexs tendency to flood, when very cold, I have installed an on off switch on my fuel pump. I start cranking the sled with the fuel pump switched off and once the cranking speed is normal I turn the fuel pump back on. This technique prevents the sled from flooding and is only necessary in extreme cold conditions.
When I need a new battery I will again buy an Earth X as a replacement.

Works for me.

Can you tell me what temps you have trouble starting in? If is good to hear about this line of batteries.

Any time its colder then -25C/-13F , and the sled is completely cold soaked, I start cranking with my fuel pump off.

Great Idea! Do you think if you hold the throttle wide open to allow extra air it might eliminate the need to shut off the fuel pump. When fuel injection first came out in the auto world if you pushed the gas pedal to the floor the ecu would go into a clear flood mood. 10 to 1 air to fuel ratio. Not likely Yamaha wrote this into the programming?

I’m not sure about their snowmobile lineup but I do know for sure that Yamaha has programmed it in to their wave runners , I’m using full throttle trick when when changing oil , storage etc...

Did you see the recommended storage temp and the recommended charging instructions?
