i have my buddy's 08 nytro mtx and I'm changing jackshaft and driveshaft bearings because he run it with no oil in the chaincase. Anyways just wondering if the is any tips on getting the driveshaft bearing in the chaincase cover out and also getting the jackshaft bearing out of the bulkhead. And also any reasons why there would be no oil in the chaincase he said he checked when he bought it in September and it was full and he never noticed any oil under but when I pulled the bolts for the skid plate(aftermarket plastic) it started dripping out of there. Any advice would help. Thanks and keep up the good work on this site.

I'd assume the oil could only leave from two places. Check the rubber seal that that goes between the chain case halves, but if it came out while he was riding it it probably leaked out around the seal at the bearing on the drive axle. You should see some on the inside of the tunnel and maybe on the driver and shaft.

I watched the deal remove mine he just heated up the outside of the chaincase cover and the bearing fell right out.

I've had mine out a few times for track swaps and don't remember having to struggle with it. But I wouldn't do the job without replacing the seal. Consider that the sled ran out of chain case fluid in the first place.

I had to use a slide hammer and heat to get the bottom bearing out of the chaincase cover.

The jackshaft bearings, the one on the chaincase side I think i used a long pipe and a big hammer and pounded it out of the sled. The one behind the secondary, I took the 2 allen bolts off so the housing came out with the whole jackshaft, and then used a big hammer and some creativity to get that bearing off the jackshaft.
