I'm very intrigued by this. Especially since the 3 shim bolts on my venture keep wearing their way into the sheave so you eventually run out of washers to remove and have to get longer bolts. My question is, does the new adjuster allow for the small amount of side play of the secondary on the jackshaft, which I believe helps with belt alignment? I couldn't tell from the video.
Stationary there is no float, but as soon as the sled starts moving and the secondary begins to open the secondary floats on the jackshaft.

I've decided to add some nylon buttons to the adjuster so there is no metal to metal contact. This also eliminates the need for the shim tool.
Adding the buttons would require drilling some small holes with a drill press. For those that ordered one already if you'd like the buttons contact me. I can send you a template to tape on adjuster and center punch the hole locations. If you'd rather have me install them you could send it back to me for install. There's nothing functionally wrong with what you have, the buttons are simply a refinement.

Good idea, Travis. Are the buttons replaceable?
Yes the buttons are replaceable. They press in just like buttons on a secondary clutch. I am also putting a drop of lock tite in hole too.
Buttons will just undergo compression force as the adjuster is essentially just a stop for the helix when secondary is closing up. The only time I see them wearing is from belt changing as you make multiple rotations to open the secondary. I would say if you are wearing out buttons you are blowing to many belts! Ha.
Buttons are rated for -40F, so they should remain soft enough not to shatter from cold weather.
