Hey guys.
Just a word on the belt change tool.
I bought it from a power sports shop in the US ended up costing me $85 Can at the end of the day.
I would have to say worth ever penny. I found changing the belt with the stock settings to be hell then I had my cluches done when I did the turbo kit and forget it there was no way that I could change the belt on the side of the trail or out on the lake if I had to.....I just found it way to tight!!
I installed the belt change tool and now I change the belt with ease in about 3 minutes. Leaves me wondering why Yamaha wouldn't have had this tool on from stock. Am I the only one that finds changing this belt hell??

which belt change tool did you get ?? I hate changing belts on the Viper its a real pain in the A@#$%^&*()

I have a few of those Tools that Rich sells from Rich Motorsports.. never put them on. I can have the belt off and changed in less then 3 min..with no tools.

Ya got it from Rich Motorsport.
Mr.Sled you must be a beast, I don't consider myself a weak guy but that belt change is dam hard with out that tool. Took me 35 minutes in my heated shop with some missing skin at the end of it. No way I could see myself in - temps or at night pulling this off with out this little gem of a tool... Lol

if you get a chance post a video I fought with this every time! That was one of the main reason I bought the osp belt adjuster

I had the first Rich Motorsports tool, but spiraled the threads out of it after a few uses. The tip was too long on the screw so the first few threads took a pounding. Fortunately I purchased it from Ulmer who took care of it for me. He sent me a different unit with a different screw so that all of the threads are engaged before contact with the helix.

Most times I take off by hand, but the tool sure is nice to have. Definitely easier to do when warm and you never know some day it may save the day.

FYI this is std equipment on the skidoo secondary. Even a carry slot on the removable belt guard.

A 10mm wrench makes a good belt changing tool. Just put it on one of the helix bolts and turn it clockwise while pushing in.

Maybe Mr Sled should have a demonstration on his technique's this weekend at the TY Ride!!
It's always Good to get a few pointers!
Your the Man Tom!!

X2 on the wrench on the Helix, that is a Great help if you don't have the special tool.
