I think that is the part I dont like...the belts look fine, little to NO wear on them, cords look good too...then SNAP.You have to pay to play. I figure a new belt every 500-600 miles anyway. It's amazing that hunk of rubber can transmit 200+ hp at all. My 2nd belt looks perfect at 570 miles. Time for a new one.
At least when cords fray/pull....or cog starts to separate from miles/wear you can inspect and swap out as I always have...with little to no signs of wear it becomes a crap shoot.
Im thinking Franks Bottom protector would be a good investment...Im gonna assume he is making them still, got one from him for my cat turbo to save pan from blown belt damage.
He usually hangs on HCS. found it: http://www.belangerracingproducts.com/products.php

Leaving on a 700 mile trip. I've got 1500 miles on this belt so I'm going to replace it. We will be doing a lot of high speed riding on rail beds so we'll see how well the new belt does. I'm bringing 2 new belts + the original just in case. I've had good luck so far. All 8JP.

X2. Good point. We're all used to seeing wear first.

Back on point here. Looks like roweboat70 is now in the lead with 8jp. How far are you going to go with it roweboat70?
