the only way is to get the clutch machined so the sleeve will come closer together.

You must have other issues.. if all is good the belt should ride to within about 3/16-1/4" before the sheaves lock up. With 5/8-1/2" from the edge you've got weight/power/spring/gearing or whatever problems.

Run it on ice for at least a half mile WFO then recheck the marks on your primary. That will be when it wants to be at the top of the primary. Not very often. Should see only about 1/8" to 3/16" of mark left on an all out top speed run.

What rpm on top? What secondary spring? What spring setting? What gearing?

Top #*$&@ out is 10800 to 10900 and secondary wrap in 3-3 with a 24 top gear

my ulmer kit works perfectly and allan is pretty darn close to perfect when you get it.
if your not shifting out all the way it usually something slightly off during install, my stage 2 kit came with two springs did you use them? my ulmer supplied helix secondary wrap was 6-3 (factory was 3-3) also check for belt width spec, if all that checks out, i would pull the primary clutch cover and manually check the primary for free movement, while your there make sure none of the tips broke and all washers are accounted for

I changed the gearing in my 2011 Apex, dropped 1 tooth on top, went up 1 tooth on the bottom. The belt now stops about 1/4 of an inch from the top of the primary. Pulls like a freight train now. My brothers 800 E tech, See Ya. 108 on the "dream meter".
