I don't know who is doing the installs on the turbo's that puddytatman has seen but out here in the West, I haven't seen a turbo fail yet! Now I have seen a few not run so good, do to poorly installed systems, but the guys I ride with all have great running sleds. IMO, mountain riding is the hardest environment you can put a sled in. I have close to 5000 miles on my sled with very few issues (mainly clutching and pilot circuit issues). Trail riding is a walk in the park for our turbo'd sleds.

Stan is probably refering to the problems that a local dealer of ours from Barrie had with all his SC installs. However most fail to realize a turbo or SC isn't something you just get on and hold on the bar across lake simcoe.

yes that is part of what I am referring to but also some information I received from others who are in the business. I also raced a few in the winter adn seen many at the tar track. Powder lites is the name i most frequently hear as being the best. I know technology has changed and has progressed so obviously guys are having success so when one of you guys who has it all set up wants to sell your sled to me I am interested.

Actually I like to hear what others have to say about the turbos and superchargers so no better place to hear about it than on this site. It does interest me as what I would want and who would not but it always sounds a lot better than it is.
I have heard that it is not only how good a system is as much as how good an installation is and how good the parts you use are. In this day and age shortcuts are taken and I think that is especially true in the case of the turbos where cheaper inferior parts are used and they cause grief. Then there is a lot fo stuff you should have but are options so to speak due mostly to an already bulging cost to get that far.
Everything always seems so good on the net as the preachers preach. In the real world where guys will run for 5-7 hours tours of on off the throttle is the test for flat landers at sea level or just above. As I understand it the new powderlites are good but I still need to see and know it for myself before investing that kind of money in a sled.
Rick keep us posted on how you make out. As for taking it here I figure Jonathan spews on all sites he does not even own a sled for so I thought I would come and see how the other side works.

It looks like we'll have some time before installation anyways. The sled has 0 miles on it so it will need some running before it sees boost. For some reason he won't let me install it on the grass apex lol.
I'm still gathering info though so any bender powered apex's (or rx's) feel free to chime in...knowledge is gold!!

Initial kit + WB+Boost Gauge+clutching
Thats all thats necessary to wax everyone around. I have done a couple extra things this year to make it a little better just for me.
BOV + track rub eliminator + sway bar + Internal drivers + whiteknuckle exhaust + USI skis just some other stuff thats for me not necessary stuff.

what does it run in 2000 feet and would you say in dollars how much invested to set it up right less your install as I know you did it. The problems as I have mentioned before is the right person installing it the right way.

Stan,
Supercharger Kit = $4700
Installation = $500
Clutching = $375
XD-16 O2 Gauge = $390
BPE Gauge Pod & Hood Scoop = $258
Water Temp Gauge = $125
Rear Heat Exchanger = $40
Total = $6388
I would set it up with 26/24 supercharger pulleys which would be real close to 10 lbs of boost at 10,800. Setup and time spent on installation are keys.
