Posted this in the lounge also....I am looking for new boots, Baffin ignite has caught my eye.....and new gloves, i hate cold fingers....what does everyone wear?..... :D

I have the Baffin Ignites and they are super warm and not real heavy but they are pretty tall and not good for a day where you need to do a bunch of walking. Excellent for cold weather riding though. The Baffin Shock is cut a bit lower so I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I have had the Baffins for two years and they are holding up well.

Personally I like my old Grandoe gloves that I used for skiing. They have the removable liners etc and just seem warmer than most gloves out there. I also have a pair of Polaris Gauntlet Gortex gloves which are good down to about 10 degree days for me. Grandoes are better though but I don't think they make them anymore. We (myself and friends)rarely ride in temps below 0- -10 F (NH) so I think the northern guys could give you the best recommendations for warmth. I have skiied in -30 temps with those Grandoes and fingers have stayed toasty. Sure wish I could find them somewhere.

I run a pair of Coldwave Gloves with the power skin. My jacket is the same. I never get cold. I'm trying the new Polar boot from Yamaha this year. Suppose to be rated to -49. We'll give her a try. I got a good deal on them at the Milwaulkee show last month. I swear by the Coldwave stuff though.

I am also trying the polar yamaha boot, I really like the way they feel . light and not to big. I bought a pair of gortex socks for them also.

Well, I ride alot of slower speeds boondocking through the deep stuff in the trees (see Gotta love the Rocky Mtns photos) so, my Fox Thermal Paws might be a little light.

For boots; I wear the Rengade 4s by RU Outside. They have great support and are rated for -60 F.

Baffin altimate boots, have had them for 4 years and soo warm, and easy to get into.. ;)!

Gloves: Yamaha or North Face, Wind-Stopper fleece. A thin glove, no extra bulk, easy to grip the bars.

Boots: RU Outside Bridger and Altimate. Both good for -40F.
