So I did a track swap and the brake has been off the sled for about 2 months. I've been working on it when I can. Today I went to put the brakes on, and I see the pads are closed. I know someone must have hit the break, but what I don't know is how to re-open it. I don't want to have to bleed the system.

you should be able to push the pads back, if you can't do it just take the cap off of the master cylinder and then the pads should push back, be careful not to waste the brake fluid it will take paint off anything painted and most likely discolor the plastic.

X2 flat head screw driver on the backing part of the pads so that you do not wreck the pad surface, once you have it pushed back as far as you can you could use a thin shim to prevent damage to the pad surface to get them far enough apart to install.
