Break in period

When I got my first MP, I just rode the thing. I did not pay attention to a break in period.

Is there one on these engines?

You bet there is and it will all be in the manual. I followed the instructions which DO NOT say to baby it. Neither do they say RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT! If you want to give everyone something to do and grind the whole world wide web to a stand still post this under General Discussion.

Thanks for your reply. My first machine I rode it like I would ride normally. After 500 K I did an oil change. There did not seem to be any issues.

If you think about it, the only thing that "wears" in are the rings.

Interesting read. I am not sure I will run it hard though. Just run it like I would. And warm it up of course.

And that first oil change should also include the filter. The manual will actually say 800kms.
