Yesterday when I was out the sled started bottoming easily and got very twitchy handling. When I got home and cleaned the sled I saw the rear shock is broken. The lower eyelet split open and the track nubs on the inside rows are chewed off. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Have you removed you transfer rod?

No, completely as delivered. Only put the springs on the highest setting as I weigh just over 300lb with gear and equipment.

600 miles on RTX SE 129 blew the rear shock. Tried to upgrade to the QS3 shocks but not available. No choice but to try another POS Shock off 129 that's in the showroom

You can get the QS3 for your sled ....the dealer has one sidewinder on there web page and it has them the only thing you will have problem with getting is the shock collar for the springs on front shock for rear skid...the only way I know this is because I have ordered them and have everything except the collar

Replaced shock lasted 70 miles replaced that one with my old rear shock that mechanic rebuilt and revolved it, also new Center shock 40 miles later, done. Dealer now trying to get the QS3 rear skid shocks for me.

Chris at 300 lbs I'm sure you need heavier torsion springs and center spring as well as shock revalve. I'm 205 and I had my shocks re-valved and center spring done by hygear and couldn't be happier.

Your probably right. Fairly new to sledding and unsure who can help getting the sled setup. Right now I am waiting for the Yamaha reps call on the track damage, the shock and trailing arms are warranty (some on backorder).

If you are blowing the shocks out that quickly once you get shocks that work you are quickly going to break your suspension. Think every RR/16LE part that fits your sled in addition to the shocks.

Hopefully this is a one time occurrence. Warranty only replaces with the same spec parts. I'm not a hard rider, but love the ability to stand up over my apex.

You have blown 3 shocks in 200mi according to your above statements. That is extreme even if just DX shocks. Fix it right or you will have to slow down for the bumps.

Also in my experience if Yamaha sees anything in the suspension bent, broke or loose such as bolts loose, broken arms, bent shafts etc. They will deny warranty since all those are preventable. I am just saying to save you trouble. Think of your suspension as a chain. When one link fails others follow and it becomes a vicious cycle. Its not fun and I have experienced it myself. If something goes stop and do not ride for 1 ft further unless absolutely necessary and if so do it on a road or flat trail at no more than 10mph.
