Can A Grizzly Wheelie Stock?

my friend has an 05 Grizz and i cant for the life of me get it to wheelie. my cat will wheelie with ease but man is there a trick to getting the grizz to wheelie?

I do like that it is so easy to pick up on 2 side wheels. my cat is a little heavy and hard to pull on the 2 sides but the grizz lifts right up

Stock is very easy....big wheels make em tough...

If you lean back, give a big ole tug on the handlebars and a burst of throttle the front tires should come right up.
Ive seen people wheelie Sportsman 500s and if you can wheelie a Sportsman, I see no reason why you cant wheelie a Grizz.

well he left the Grizz at my house for a couple days so i went out and tried to wheelie today

It wouldnt wheelie as well as my cat, but it did. my cat will flip backwards right after i let off the brake. With the grizz i just held the front brake and got the tires spinning full speed. As soon as i let off i planted myself on the back of the seat and it lifted up a nice amount, but maybe the stockers just dont get enough grip right away to flip it over

I never had any trouble getting my old 00 grizzly to come up and I know my new one is a lot more responsive so I don't think it will be a problem. I did get to ride a friends Kawi with the V twin and it would really come up easy. Very nice power but the handling left a lot to be desired. It was a solid axle on the back which I like but the front shocks were not much to talk about.

ive decided that the reason its so hard to wheelie is the sway bar in the rear. My rear suspension flexes a lot and lets the weight transfer when i wheelie. The grizz flexes maybe a quarter of an inch when its wheelied. The yamaha dealer told me that the grizz isnt made to wheelie. its made to keep the front tires on the ground

Oh yeah? I was at a mud bog competition yesterday and there was a Grizz with a big wheel kit and Yosh exhaust (insanely loud) there the wheelied through most of the mud pit.

They wheelie easy. I have a 600 grizz and a 660 and they both come up easy. Timing is the main thing. Got to hit the gas and weight transfer fairly close to each other. Rest your foot on the rear carry racks with your knee on the seat, really helps get the weight back. I can wheelie my old mans 300 king quad like this.

Oh Yea... It'll wheelie alright. (if it's tuned correctly)

It takes more effort to keep the front end DOWN on mine. I run 27" 589s on ITP C-Sereis rims (heavy combination), and it will bring em right up.

One handed are also no trouble. I have some interesting pics of that I will post later when I have more time.

I do now, but I have similar pics from when it was completely stock right after I jetted it for the first time.

It was about 3 weeks old when I did the first rejet.

stand on back rack, jump up and down fro you suspension to kick and let err rip..thats what i do

1st video is about 3.5MB
You can see at the begining that it is shifted into High gear (Blue LED) and that my left hand is holding the camera instead of the grip.

2nd one is about 1.5MB
I was in High, traveling at a steady 15MPH, punch trhe throttle and sit down to keep traction.

BTW... Next, Im going to try roping with the left hand. Will have to have the cam on the helmet mount for that.
