Cleaning Clutches...Any ideas?

Dishwasher works great on machineparts but dont let the wife see it

A heavy duty industrial aqueas parts washer is just a huge glorified dishwasher. A dishwasher is awesome for parts washing & cleaning drive belts. I am serious even tho it does sound goofy!!!!

Turk - Agreed, works like a charm. But I have to take the parts out before the drying cycle... was told to dry them myself and not with the heated drying air inside the dishwasher. Too moist or whatever. ??? Have you allowed the dishwasher to dry them?

You gotta be carefull what you use for detergent. A good quality high PH dish soap works great but a cheapy product will cause the the clutches to start rusting if left on the dry cycle too long. Using a parts washer product will eat the enamel off the inside of the dishwasher, causing wifey to get very pissed. Get a dishwasher with the new stainless guts & run a powdered parts washing product in the tank. Wifey will luv ya for getting her a new dishwasher but make sure ya clean it out after every use!!!!

I had to convince the wife but ended up doing it the other night. Work very well. I did take the parts out before the dry cycle as well just to be on the safe side. I have to admit guys...I didn't believe it but it actually did a pretty good job.
