The primary stationary sheave on my Winder sure gets hot quickly from the engine. Does it make sense that this heat would transfer to the belt and to the secondary and cause problems?

Check all your sleds this is normal the inner sheave will be much hotter than the outer the engine does transfer a lot of heat to it. As to it transferring to the secondary I doubt it will much but some it will.

Seems like a 180° engine that's next to the clutch would contribute to my 180° belt temps. I may be grasping at straws but I'm up to 13 or 14 blown belts in 2200 miles now. Clutches and belt are always hot no matter how I ride it.

What’s your clutch setup and tune?

How hot does the stub shaft get? Its not the actual crank.

I could infrared it but I haven't pulled the clutch after riding so I don't know and don't have snow to test. Do you think a a viable test would be to let the engine warm up in the garage & measure the temp? Or do you think it needs to be ridden & fully warmed up?How hot does the stub shaft get? Honestly, these are the coolest running clutches I have owned in 6 yrs and 3 diff sleds. So this is not something I even think about.I could infrared it but I haven't pulled the clutch after riding so I don't know and don't have snow to test.
