Clutch heat from engine?

I haven't blown a belt yet.
I ran my first one for 1300 miles very little wear when changed.
At the start of a new season I replace my belt and it will last all year. Running the stockers. Does your sled have the vent in front of the primary.

Yeah. I'm working on adding more venting.

Try checking motor alignment, and clutch offset, just saying

These doo vents work well 860200684

Did all that long ago. I've now blown 14 belts in 2200 miles.
Holy crap!! I now have 2000 miles on my original belt and I plan on running it another 2000 miles.

Yeah must be nice! Dealer is going to let me measure runout of the jackshaft on 1 of their new sleds tomorrow, mine has .005 and neither Yamaha or Cat has a "spec" for that so I assume any runout means that its bent, which I'm hoping is the problem with mine.

whenever you are lost go back to the start...then go in a different direction ...if you are out of alignment...everything else is a band aid...
from what youve said...this we know for sure...

you are a bigger guy going off trail...and you think your jackshaft has run out? correct?

track and lug height? any changes from bone stock are ??

Seems like a 180° engine that's next to the clutch would contribute to my 180° belt temps. I may be grasping at straws but I'm up to 13 or 14 blown belts in 2200 miles now. Clutches and belt are always hot no matter how I ride it.
something is wrong

Everything's good that I've found: offset, c to c, alignment, bushings, springs, etc. Not any real off trail, we hardly get enough snow in Michigan for that and certainly not this season. Jackshaft definitely has run out but haven't figured out yet what constitutes "bent". 1.25 lug, lots of changes from stock but it's been blowing belts since new and stock. Hot belt at 20% throttle.
