'17 LTX w/3500 miles. All stock. Cat rollers.
Was going to pull my primary and secondary to bring to a parts house and get them Sonic washed. Is that advisable? Anything else I should do or look at while they're off the sled.

Weight and primary roller bushings for starters. Inspect closely for play and wear.
I'll attach some pictures this weekend. Ty... My rollers look like they need to be cleaned up maybe a lite coating of rust or something is on them

2000miles on 8jp. 3/1 on secondary, stock helix.
Any thoughts on this B4 I put her back together?

JT,
Stock secondary spring should not be at 3-1, but 3-3.

Post pics of the ramps and rollers.
Just asking cause I don't like the stock style rollers, they tend to wear a 'track' into the helix with miles. I use the Cat rollers that are wider and don't have the bump on the side.
The other problem with the stock rollers is the side of it wears into the casting from centrifugal force over time.

There ya go, 74Nitro. I'm using Cat rollers since new. Little over 3,000miles on them.

Looks normal to me after 2k

Right on. Are they all the same age? Just asking because it looks like the one is doing 90% of the work. One of the reasons Yamaha started to CNC machine the helix in 2019.

It's got a total of 3500 miles on clutch. Belt has 2000 miles on it.

Yes...all from new. Suggestions?

The picture with the rubber all over is ugly.
Looks just like a burn out down the road and no traction from a muscle car.
Like what Knapp said, tighten up that secondary spring.
This is one of the reasons I also went to the Ultramax XS 825 belt from Timkin.

I made a mistake, It's been on 3/3. Anything I can do? I thought I could just wrap the spring tighter, I'm just not sure how that works.
Yeah, it's definitely ugly. Lol

I guess the only proper solution is to do what Yamaha did and use a machined helix.
If that goes back together the same way, with more miles that roller may wear more allowing the two slackers to start carrying some of the load.

Ok, no worries. I see Yamaha has a helix kit for $80. Wasn't sure if it was really worth it.
I like your idea. Thanks, 74!!!
