Clutching help, I think

I get best top end running stock weights with & am using a Bender 48/40 with my k & n,s. It,s a very aggressive helix but for top end pulls it,s what works the best for me.

Wanna come to Sudbury tune my sled....my wife make one mean Pasta ;)!

If it's only pulling 8600 to 8800 rpmand you're running the same top end as your stock weights at 9060 rpm you're doing great.

Remove the tip washer and middle washer to get the revs up some. You want it to run right around 9000 rpm.

8600 rpm = 104.4 mph
8800 rpm = 106.9 mph
9000 rpm = 109.3 mph
9060 rpm = 110.1 mph

Ok I'll try that and report back..thx

What are your thought on Gearing????

Leave the gearing stock on a XTX.

This morning I ran 111mph at 8800 mid range was 8200-8400..So I dropped the mid and tip washer and bolt (no weights) and its ran 113-114mph (speedo) at 9060rpms but the mid range may be high...it was shifting at 8600 to 8800....what do you think guys?

I ran stock weights on mine today, not so great conditions and could only get 107mph (speedo) @8,800rpm. Low end and mid range is nowhere near as strong as my Ulmers Super Tip setup.

Did you remove the weight from the heel? If so, do not do that.... You should have only removed from the tip and mid.

But 114 is not bad for those conditions. You have atleast 4-5 more if it hardens up.... Plus, on the harder run, the RPM's should increase to give more mph.... Where did you remove the bolt from, the heel? Where's the secondary at?

no heel is the way ulmer sent it...took out the washer and bolt from the mid and tip only....secondary at 60 degrees

think i may test with putting the mid weight back in 8600-8800 is kindov a high shift rpm isn't it??

How is yours set up??

Ok, Put the mid back in and try that... It should come in anywhere from 84-8600 and pull to 9000+. Like I said yesterday, it will pull more RPM as the ice hardens. This weather is killing your speed... It has been 11-14 degrees here since Sunday....

Oh I forgot to add she was spuing out oil from the tank vent thru my little K&N filter

Probably from running in warm weather and holding it on long runs, but PM Allen about that...
