2014 Viper MPI turbo, taller gearing, Ulmer clutch and tuning.
I have a 2014 sr viper Ltx. It has 21t/41t gears, mpi turbo, Ulmer Clutch kit and machining to accept an 8dn belt. I can’t keep it out of the rev limiter. Whenever I get into the go button, even on a slow roll top speed run on a lake, she over revs. If I pin it quick the machine instantly hits the limiter. The max rpm recall is always 92xx rpm and a top speed of 100 which seems low to me. I don’t have any knowledge of clutching and I don’t have much faith in local dealers so I’m looking for guidance. What is the target rpm I should be looking for and how do I get there? The sled engages beautifully and I don’t want to ruin that. Thanks for any help and all suggestions are welcome!

What Medieval said^^^^ probably a good idea to check your secondary spring wrap also, and look for worn parts. Make sure your primary rollers are not worn out. When you take your secondary off check bushings and slider shoes for wear. Oh yea and make sure your belt isn’t worn out.

Add enough weight to bring it down to around 8800-8900 rpm if you only have the 9200rpm rev limit. I’m not familiar with the Ulmer kit but I’d add about 1 gram to the middle and 1 gram to the tip of each wieght and test it again, 1 gram on each weight = 100–150rpm change in my experiences.

Target RPM from Allen is 8800-9100...I have same kit (Ulmer/MPI kit) but instead of red secondary spring I'm running the TP orange wrapped at 3-3. I'm also hitting the limiter but on the top end not launch (I saw 110 flash on speedo) so I'm going to add tip weight...I'm no expert just trying to figure this clutching thing out.

Yes, add weight to tip

Like mentioned...add weight to the tip and base of your weights evenly till you get off of the rev limiter. Adding more weight will make your engagement better also

Alright thanks guys
