yup, i agree. it at least needs weights and rollers. new primary spring would not hurt it either.
might be time to talk to the guys at thunder products for a clutch kit better suited to what you are doing with the sled as that changes most of the parts you need to replace.

Ok, would you mind giving me a shot for shot description on what i need and what i need to do?Oh there's your problem. See those big grooves in the weights.
I can't see the rollers, but I would think they should be changed.

Number 26 in this parts diagram.
I can see in your picture that the weights have major grooves which cause them to not function properly, and create the issues you first described.

where the bolt is at the tip of the arm at the bottom left is where the roller is.
the guys at thunder products will sell you all the rollers, weights, springs and helix for your application. if you talk to nospro or shagman on here (owners of thunder products), they will send your weights loaded for your style of riding witch makes the sled perform better. done that a few times on sleds and was happy with results.

How does that happen to the weights?

From staying at a steady speed, and certain rpms the harmonics of the engine wear the weights

I will add belt debris and clutch wear also adds a factor to these weights notching like this.

how is the acceleration /responsiveness in the low and mid range? Does it pull harder from a stop than the stock clutching? I’m a boondocker I don’t care about top speed, but it seems most people’s goal is top speed with these clutch kits.

Just put on those used stock weights from thunder products and that seems to have fixed it! Been trying to figure this out for a year. Looks like i will still want to sens it in for a rebuild.
