My idle has been a little low this year and today when it was really hot the idle dropped low, 1200ish rpm, code 30 came up and the motor stopped. It restarted and seemed fine but it happened two or three time thought out the day.
Now I’ve noticed that it’s not unusual for my sled to see a drop in idle rpm when its been run hard and it bounces back a few seconds later. I increased the idle and everything seems fine.
The only other thing I noticed was my oil was a little low. It seemed a bit odd as I’ve only put 500km on it since the last oil change.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I should add that the idle was low because I adjusted it at the start of the season.

Probably you got the code 30 because your idle was probably so low that there wasn't enough oil pressure. Try adjusting it a bit more on the higher end when hot. Mine idles low like that sometimes when really hot but hasn't stalled.
Another possibility is mixtures are off, maybe on the rich side. Try playing around with the mixtures.

Code 30 is oil pressure drop. ECU senses low pressure and disconnects power which kills engine. The sensor I believe is right beside oil filter, with a single wire if I recall correctly. My idle has been a little low this year and today when it was really hot the idle dropped low, 1200ish rpm, code 30 came up and the motor stopped. Thanks. That kind of what I was thinking. I actually stalled once, no code.
I checked the wire to the sensor and it looked good. Also no oil leaks from the filter or tank.

My 2015 phazer xtx is also shutting down with error code 30.
When getting warm the idle has been getting lower and lower. Some times it would just die at random. Done this since new. But normally without an error code.
This last weekend we were playing in some waist deep snow. The phazer really struggled! The apex handled it with ease. When my wife got stuck it wouldn't restart for her. I drove over to check it out.
I could smell what I thought was burning oil. I got it to restart. But it was acting like it was getting tight. I drove it back to the trailer and parked it. I could smell burning oil the whole time. I had to hold the throttle open a long ways to keep it running. It died about 15 times with error code 30. No temp light or any warning until error code 30 and shut down.
After I looked up the error code I checked the oil. It was in the operating range. But was much darker than normal and smelled like burnt plastic. I am assuming it is wiping out the bearings. I have only used Yamaha oil and filters. It has 3,800 miles on it. It gets the oil changed regularly.
Good thing it has YES 5 year warranty on it!

I wonder if a Timing Chain Guide could have failed? Bad Chain Tensioner? Hope for the best.My 2015 phazer xtx is also shutting down with error code 30.
