Convince me why I should rob a bank to get a 4 stroke.....

I have over 33000 miles on my 03 rx 1 and Plan on putting at least another 33000 miles on it How many 2 strokes would you go through to get that kind of millage ?

Holy crap! Really? I talked my buddy into a Vector so he could put 10,000 miles on a sled for once, it's an 08 with 7000 miles on it, and i think we're both surprised that it's obvious this sled has a lot of miles left in it! He's very happy with his first Yamaha after all Polaris for 25 years.

just talked to my brother. i loaned my sled to a colleuge of his for their students sled days.

instead of doing a carnival activity at school, the kids with properly registered sleds where allowed to go trail ride with 3 teachers and 4 voluteer trail wardens for the day.

he owned a polaris fusion 800 previously. he rode my war all day and was really impressed with how it handled and loved the power. he is seriously considering a yamaha 4 stroke for his next sled now.

i can't believe you guys fall for these trolls.

If you have a problem with me....PM me. Thanks again for all the many folks with their knowledge, class, & passion for these sleds, who have helped with my decision.

I was that guy that said I would NEVER get a 4S and here I am. How did I get here?? like this... first sled 2001 ZR 600 baught new for $5956 out the door, I rode that for 5 years and put 10000 miles on it but with all the repairs and rebuilt motors in it I had $12000+ into it and all I got for it was $1500. then on to the SKI DOO MXZX 800 paid $4000 used and put about 4000 miles on that with 1 top end rebuild and 1 top and bottom end rebuild. After all that money spent I thought if I took all the repair money that I would spend on motors every year it seemed I pay it up front I would try a 4S and I ended up with a new one only because the stupid money the used ones are. On the plus side I save around $100 a weekend in gas and oil. All that being said, if I were in your shoes (and I was before the cat) I would for sure find the right deal on a 2S. After all, its beter to ride something than nothing at all!

food for thought... friend of mine bought a 2002 MXZ 700 for $1500 and sold it in parts at the end of the season for $3500, he has done this twice now... kinda makes me sick.

Thanks for that info & insight mcamzr. The next sled I buy will probably be with me for many yrs so I'll definitely jump on a deal that works with my budget on a 4-stroke Yamaha. I've had much better luck on 2-strokes, than you but I don't put on anywhere near that kind of mileage as you do on sleds. In the long run, much less $$$ will be spent on a 4S so that's where I'm focused but you're 100% correct: "its better to ride something than nothing at all!" Thanks ~

If you look around I bet you can find an 03 rx1 for 25 or 2600 this summer. I bought my 05 rx1 over the summer for 3100 with 3000 miles on it. Keep an eye on craigslist in these hard times people need to dump off toys.
