How did Yamaha make up for the lost rad and fan? Can't find any pics or info.

I am also a bit concerned about this, especially with the XTX and BTX models that may not get enough snow if used on a trail to cool a high hp turbo engine.

I did testing on my viper with rad removed. In snow it stayed cool. Once stopped it heated up very fast.

They have new added tunnel coolers and rear cooler.

Is a tunnel cooler up above the track or ??? I'm familiar with a cooler in front of the tunnel, also in the rear of the tunnel as well as running board coolers.

Yes. Usually two thin ones that line up with the windows in the track as to not get hit by studs.

so we will get ice build up on new sidewinder and how about oil spillage when you tip one over is that still a problem

Not likely on the ice. It's the exhaust pipes & muffler that causes most of the build up on Apex, Vector, Nytro, Phazer, RX1, etc.

This will exit lower right, same as Viper.

Dual heat exchangers connected as tunnel protectors. Normal one in front is same, then rear is flat mounted toward rear of tunnel but stops before tail light, does not curve down like old rear exchangers. ***** Just rode my Viper 70 miles tonight on extremely marginal conditions. (rock hard icy base with under an inch of fresh snow) Sure was glad my Viper has radiator and fan... got hot 3 times, just turned key to acc. and let fan cool it down in a minute or two. Sidewinder will take a hell of a lot longer to cool down if it gets hot.

SW also has the oil spraying up at the pistons .
This sounds helpful .
Has anyone done that b4 ?

I've seen oil nozzles under the pistons in automotive engines so this s not something new. I know that Toyota has them in their engines because I rebuilt one last year. This is from the Toyota manual.

Yamaha and Toyota are pretty tight , so that probably has something to do with it being on this engine , and it works .
Each may be a minority stock holder in the others business .
No snowmobile engine has that feature ?
