Once again I call on all the good people at TY. I know its summer but what better time to fight with all the seized bolts on my apex exhaust. Can any one tell me that the copper gaskets are working just as good as the originals and don't wear out the pipes. And if so , is there still some copper gaskets available on here somewhere. Thanks in advance.

I run them on all my sleds. I have about 6000 miles on them on the XTX.

Ok That's good enough for me. Thanks again. I will get a hold of sled toyz and order a set.

I used the stock gaskets still working great
changed my gaskets over two years ago, still working great, made a couple of alterations to the exhaust. loosened up the bolts that hold the y pipes to the tunnel so they can move slightly, used thread locker to prevent the bolt from coming loose. also widened the holes in the silencer slightly. front to back if you know what I mean. this allows the exhaust to move slightly. left that bolt loose as well, used thread locker to hold in place. these sleds have a movement problem in the exhaust, this causes the gaskets to wear out when the engine flexes. did the rag test multiple times after the alterations , no problems. I know it is working because I hear a slight vibration when the sled first starts, but it stops as soon as the exhaust warms up and expands. I have put on several thousand kilometers since the repairs and all is working fine. Hopefully I will never have to replace the y pipe or exhaust gaskets ever again. so far I am pleased with the alterations I have made, I wish Yamaha would address these problems. I used a dremmel grinder to enlarge the holes on the silencer, they are slightly oval now instead of round, this allows front to back movement when the engine is running and movement occurs.
